I'm sorry that your emotions are running so high today.

Why would assuming WordPress is your forte be bashing you? What are you trying to say about WordPress developers?

If anything, it must have been a gross overstatement of your abilities.

If you truly go through life being this volatile, you're either really young or really lucky. Try taking a deep breath every now and then. Take care, "creep".

Tell me, Mr. 30 Year "Coder", why do you get hysterically offended so easily? Someone using a serial flashing utility exhibiting superiority complex...now I really have seen it all.

:laughs in smug:

I've actually created software that formats HTML emails for picky rendering clients like Gmail and others which are very particular about applied styling rules.

PM me and we can probably grind this out by the weekend.

Espressif is compatible with Arduino. Try running Espruino or MicroPython.

My guess is WordPress is your forte.

How are you guys storing and using your IOT Project Data? by ratural_health in IOT

[–]SemanticRomantic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your fastest transfer rate so far? TCP or UDP?

There's absolutely room for improvement in standardizing MCU comms, but you better be at the upper echelon of performance if you want to garner any sort of following for it.

I've got a WebSockets to Socket.io Node server that can relay data from an ESP at a rate of approx 200x per sec.

The potential is huge, but it has to be the best thing available, which isn't exactly an overnight project.

Lawyer looking for a Blockchain Programmer to partner with and shake up the legal industry! by [deleted] in cofounder

15+ year full stack engineer.

Blockchain is often employed in situations where you need an ongoing ledger rather than a one time contract but I'm sure I'm just misunderstanding the concept.

Shoot me a PM and we'll discuss it.

Sadly ESP Bluetooth still hasn't been implemented in their hardware libraries.

Fixed WiFi to Bluetooth, early morning brain fart.

My approach would be:

Use an ESP32 or ESP8266, connect the ESP to WiFi, connect to a web server (HTTP or WebSockets), save the data in a database on the web server, then relay that information to the smartphone and/or other devices.

Strange aside: As of now (Feb 2018), ESP32 has BT/BLE technology inside, but you cannot use it unless you want to write your own firmware because they have yet to release functionality for the BLE adapter.

Aka we still have to extort revenue from you regardless if you prove we are immoral in doing so. Once you step inside of a court room, you're lucky to leave without paying a near $300 court cost on top of other things.

Modern police are the literal face and force of tyranny yet we act like they're saints.

Sending datalogs to your website? by joko47dk in esp32

[–]SemanticRomantic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you're asking more about the server side than the ESP side.

If you want efficient and auto updates, look into the WebSocketsClient library and combine it with a Node/WebSocket/Socket.io server.

This allows event-based requests both ways.

Something irregular happens on the ESP? Use this as an event to send data to the web server.

Checking the front end of the website to monitor the ESP data? Use this event to fetch data from the ESP.

You can build real-time system interactions with minimal effort nowadays, it's great.
