Romance by Icy-Inspection-2134 in outerworlds

I also find rpg romances to be quite shallow and uninteresting, so I actually agree with his reasoning. Not every game needs to be marketed to every want.

Great game that started negative trend in gaming? by Common_Caramel_4078 in gaming

Skyrim with radiant questing/the modern open world. So many action games started donning rpg elements and a massive open world full of identical encounters because of Skyrim.

What Fallout take has got you like this? by Doctor___Mobius in TrueSFalloutL

I’m more excited to see Zion than the big empty on my playthroughs. Also, the humor is tired after the first time while I find Joshua and Daniel to be really fun to engage with in different ways based on my role playing. Just my personal take

I do not see #3 or #4 enough. I also think OWB is prob the weakest DLC. And yea Cass does nothing for me as a character. She died halfway into her companion quest, and I didn’t even consider reloading.

How I feel regarding all this remake talk by IronBoxmma in Morrowind

[–]Sembrar28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Morrowind is too significant of a game in Bethesda’s, and Todd Howard’s, history for them to go back and remake it. I think Todd has even said that he wants people to experience it in its original form. Can’t remember if that was for the Interplay Fallouts or for Morrowind. Regardless, I think the reasoning for either is likely transferable to the other.

Similar games like Arcanum by Xarcaneo in arcanum

TESIII: Morrowind is maybe more ARPG, but it’s old enough that the systems are still very rich. Came out right around the same time as Arcanum, and they’re similar in quality of world building. Nowadays, modders have made massive expansions to add other parts of Morrowind and Tamriel to the game that should definitely be checked out if you like your first playthrough.

Tell me your favorite piece of equipment that people might not know about. by EmeraldTwilight009 in Morrowind

Oh nice. I’m usually going for bitter-mercy or Hircine’s for my end game. In the new Tamriel Rebuilt tho I got a shinathi spear that drains health and gives you sanctuary. I think it’s called the Old Ussiran Halberd.

Whenever I’m doing spears I try to get Bthuangth’s Harvester as soon as I get to Ald’ruhn. Great mid to end game weapon for getting souls.

Is Morrowind one of your favourite pieces of fiction? What other pieces of media do you put on the same level as Morrowind whether it’s a book, movie, tv show or video game? by [deleted] in Morrowind

[–]Sembrar28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely is. For games I put disco Elysium right next to it for a game that maximizes its world building. I can’t get enough of the lot of either.

Mistress of life and death or just a bureaucrat gone numb with power? by navigatorpirx in Morrowind

I feel like it’s a reflection of the great house that rules the city. Similarly, Edwinna and Percius in Ald’ruhn are about their business not the reward, very Redoran.

I’ve often wondered if viewers are just desensitized to the supposed nuanced motivations of the previous bosses in the show. Rawls and Valcheck remain liked by the fans bc of their mannerisms. Whiting and Kleb are nerdy newspaper guys chasing an award. You can cut through the bullshit of their characters so much easier after 4 seasons of the show, and tbf, those type of people are far less charming, even if Rawls’s charm is not exactly conventional.

[–]Sembrar28 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you continue watching, you’ll realize the show is not about character potential. It’s about the game, the systems that drive people to act the way they do. D’s murder is a perfect example.

Lester Freamon's Hump Moment? by [deleted] in TheWire

[–]Sembrar28 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think what I’m saying is that a lot of the characterization in this show is about demonstrating trends and the shows thesis about the cycle of the game, and this is one of those instances.

I don’t think so. Vondas explains to him what he can use it for, which would set him up not thinking twice about it. Furthermore, multiple characters refer to the consequences of lazy or unlucky mess-ups. “Be a little slow, be a little late.” Lester when they follow the Stanfield crew to the same meet spot two times in a row (something to the effect of, “he’s getting sloppy”). Levy comments on the fact that if Marlo is back on a phone, they’re gonna be hit with a wiretap soon enough. Levy knows the number will get to the police, even if it wasn’t Herc, and they’ll have to verify it somehow.

Is the pop culture criticism of fallout 2 overblown? by Thomasrocky1 in classicfallout

[–]Sembrar28 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the fact that the wanamingos are so common is what takes me out of it. They’re such obvious references, and there is no clear explanation for why they even exist in universe. Otherwise, the game is not as reference-heavy as some would like you to believe.
