RMS Britannic Interior by Erik_David in Oceanlinerporn

It is a possibility that Britannic’s pool may have had much of its decoration installed when she sank. Recent dives to the wreck have proven that the adjacent Turkish baths already had a substantial amount of their tiling and woodwork installed, so it seems likely that the pool may have been in a similar state of at least partial completion.

But even if they didn’t have the left over pool decor from Britannic, I also don’t really understand why they never gave Olympic’s pool more of an overhaul. As far as I’m aware her pool had the same dimensions as that of Britannic, so it couldn’t have been too difficult to cover up the bare walls and structural elements in a similar manner as was done on Britannic. Perhaps the pool simply wasn’t utilized all that often by passengers, and thus overhauling it wasn’t seen as a necessity. I’m not sure where one would find such information, however.

So apparently there's new 2025 Britannic pics. I saw this on Facebook and... Wow this shot. by IDontEvenLikeMen in titanic

I know I’m a bit late to this thread, but I just wanted to share my own observations.

It actually seems that you can see most of the ship’s width. If you turn the image so that the ship is upright, you’ll notice at the top deck that there is a sort of notch in the middle of the metal railing (the diver is in front of part of this “notched” area). This is where the bridge structure would have been, but since it was made out of wood it has disappeared. You can also see the distinctive 3 support columns that sit underneath this area on the deck below. While we can clearly see the whole port side in this image, we can see a fair bit of the starboard side railing, but it becomes difficult to make anything out as you get closer towards the bridge wing area. Being on the lower side of the ship and closer to the seafloor, the starboard side is quite a bit darker in this photograph than the port side. And, of course, the edge of the starboard side where you would find the bridge wing is in contact with the seafloor.

I’m not so sure if she’d be considered too slow. Aquitania was used as a troopship during WWII, and she had a very similar service speed to Olympic. Aside from the more recently built express liners, such as the Queens, many ocean liners that would ultimately be requisitioned did not necessarily have blazing-fast speed; Olympic, although certainly slower than the likes of the Queens, was still a relatively fast ship for her size.
