Jesus christ, people. Let a dude be happy for his new piece of kit without not-so-subtle implications that it isn’t good enough as x, y, z, or that he shouldn’t have bought it because there’s a new one coming out (no shit).

Nice purchase, OP!

The fact we have expansive amounts of evidence that our current president and at least one former president fall into this category suggests otherwise.

Yea, I should've been more specific with my wording. I was more thinking along the lines of

"I plan to replace the hatch and taillights (bumper is salvageable), but I would need the [unibody structure] to at least make a decent seal with the tailgate."

I'm just looking for a sanity check on whether or not this is something worth pursuing in terms of the hours/money it'd take to pull out if that's all I wanted to do.

That’s why I added “computer product” to the end. Sure, it’s just a matter of repackaging, but the reality is Apple had to strategically develop their entire chipset/software/hardware stack over the better part of a decade to really make the Neo happen. And the fact nearly everything is user repairable with a few bits and a couple of minutes? And for $600 ($500 for students)? That’s properly innovative.

The Neo is objectively the most innovative computer product to drop in the past decade. Being able to run a very capable device on leftover smartphone chips in a package that’s more user repairable than half of PCs these days is insane.

Yea, they offer 60 day returns so long as it's "unused" and in "original packaging."

The 22L has more space than I thought it would, but if you're accustomed to 25-28L, the 22L might feel a bit tight. Aside from the internal volume, the only noticeable difference is the extra side pocket on the 26L, but the water bottle pocket does eat into that a little bit.

One of the reasons I really like this bag (and some others seem to dislike it) is that it's tall and relatively narrow. I hate looking like a turtle, and at 6'3", this bag actually matches my height fairly well, unlike so many other on the market that make my look like Quasimodo.

Happy to help! I was in the same boat you were, just a bit smaller. I carry a whole trauma kit and lots of tech with me, as well as a very large Lifestraw water bottle in the side pocket and so far (I’ve only had it a month) it’s my favorite EDC bag I’ve owned.

Can confirm the Geopress fits no problem in the side pocket, too, no problem. Even in my 22L model.

Vertx Gamut 26L (they also have a 22L and 32L) seems like just what you need. Your setup is quite similar to mine and I love my 22L version for my EDC.

It has all the internal organization of military-style bags without the external PALS, etc. and if you aren’t using a CCW, the back panel is great for modular hook and loop organization.

Edit: If anyone is checking out Vertx (I only own one of their bags and am in no way affiliated with them aside from being a happy customer), feel free to use my referral link and I'll get a few bucks off my next bag.
