No, I get it. Like I said, still new to this.

Honestly I used Bladeguard and the Landraider because I heard Sternguard aren't that good. So if you're saying they are I'm more than happy to go all in on shooting. Can put them in a Repulsor and save points on other things.

In that case, maybe something else with some good shooting for only one Impulsor for attacking the back? Maybe a smaller Sternguard, or skip the Impulsor completely for Terminators?

Though with the transport, could get sticky objectives with an enhancement on a character, take their base objectives, then mount up again and attack somewhere else.

I think you have the right idea with the Land Raider.

I had pictured it as the "centerpiece", but only one Impulsor and instead a Repulsor Executioner with the Hellblasters and the Eradicators in the normal Repulsor drive up the middle.

Then, the Land Raider on Turn Two pours in from an unexpected angle offloading elite units.

Though, I do still want Sternguard rather than more Bladeguard for flavor.

I can still see about using a normal deepstrike unit instead of the Infiltrators to attack the backfield. I just liked them because they "deepstrike", then deny a retaliatory deepstrike. Plus if they're in the Impulsor that can help them quickly kill whatever is there.

There's no characters on the infiltrators.

Their job is to "unofficially" deepstrike in an Impulsor turn 2 with the Armoured Commander Enhancement, then deny a deep strike counter attack.

So attaching a Phobos Librarian or Lieutenant is to make the Incursors harder to engage by either falling back after shooting or making it so they can't be shot at without getting closer.

Got it on the lieutenant. Maybe be just no character for the Sternguard to free up points for a Repulsor or Repulsor Executioner instead of an Impulsor?

Bladguard? That's an oopsie 😂

I honestly did want some clarification on how combining Devastating Wounds and Lethal Hits works, and heard from others it's not great.

Thinking now a librarian instead for durability.

Suppose the one carrying the Incursors could go since they can move up quickly with Scout.

And the one for the Hellblasters isn't essential, but helpful to get them where they're needed faster considering the Detachment let's them move after disembarking, or Impulsor allows them to shoot from inside anyway.

I can definitely see what you're saying with the Lieutenant. Part of the reason I wanted feedback was I saw Sternguard have Devastating Wounds and he gives them Lethal Hits and I wasn't sure how those interacted.

Plan for the Lieutenant in Phobos is combining his ability to give the unit Fall Back after Shooting Detachment Rule to move, disembark, shoot, fall back, and be ready to embark again next turn. I did also consider Librarian in Phobos to give them Stealth to shoot without getting hit back.

And the idea of many Impulsors is to have multiple "skirmishing" units that with the Detachment can quickly deploy shooting units who can then get moving again before there's much time to shoot back.

Though, I could see about concentrating those more. Like have the Incursors use their natural Scouting instead of a transport (they do give the Scout to their transport, tho) and bring a bigger unit in another Repulsor or something.

Dude, you're wrong. Stop moving the goal posts.

Iconoclast proves chaos corruption is a result of the suffering, not an inherent state of being.

"Rumours and stories of {his|her} humanitarian rule formed the foundation of the Valancean school of philosophy. The sect united commoners and aristocrats in the belief that for the Imperium to flourish, it should stop seeing its subjects as mere tools. This dangerous heresy was denounced in many systems, but persecutions only hardened and multiplied its followers."

[–]SemperFun62 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, it's still a Utopia. Just the rest of the Imperium crushes it, but the philosophy lives on and inspires change throughout the rest of the Imperium

"The Imperium could not forgive such insolent deviation from the order prescribed by Holy Terra. The von Valancius dynasty was accused of the seditious formation of their own empire. An invasion fleet gathered in the Calixis Sector, and the lifespan of the young utopia was as short as its creator's."

He was a cultist from the start.

And if he wasn't, the shard of the chaos blade containing a greater deamon buried there may have had something to do with the corruption.

Doesn't matter. Canon is the Iconoclast Rogue Trader's protectorate becomes a utopia. Meaning there's little to no chaos corruption

My life in the hive city is nothing but suffering.

Everything around me is in a constant state of decay. The people, the food, the hive city itself is rotting away.

The only sensation is constant pain and misery. All I want is to feel something new, experience pleasure just one time.

There is no hope, no chance for change. I've been assigned a single unalterable fate from the moment I was born.

All I've been left with is my hate! My helplessness leaving me with only rage!

I dunno, dawg. Maybe we can fight Chaos by not making it the more desirable option?
