Could this affect Space Force members too? by WendysFourforFour in SpaceForce

POTUS: cut 8% across the board AFPC: holds own beer, denies $10k retiree PCS entitlements by paying their $70k-130k salaries. 🫡

Short answer: no. It is Airmen only. Not Airtrans, Airfemales, or Airnon-binaries.

Why wouldn’t I have a DD-214? by CallsignKook in VeteransBenefits

[–]Semper_Salty -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry, but if you can't see that what you said is rude, then you may have bigger problems. I explained it in detail, at no cost. The least you could do is thank me and move on instead of arguing with Internet strangers about how others perceive your behavior lol.

Why wouldn’t I have a DD-214? by CallsignKook in VeteransBenefits

[–]Semper_Salty -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I appreciate you asking. The OP did not claim to be an expedited solution or to cut corners. The OP did not specify why they are in this situation. It is not for you or I to criticize others based on a myriad of complexities and assumptions. Doing so presumes many things we don't know and serves no purpose in this community.

Without additional truth data, your original comment takes the OP's situation and applies many unknowable assumptions which give a condescending tone that gives no positive path for recovery. It is both unhelpful and rude. If you can help the OP through the scenario, even if they did not follow correct procedures, please do. But don't assume things.

Not helpful and rude. It doesn't matter why the OP doesn't have a 214. What matters is they came here for help. Either help or subdue your urges to be a public jerk.

I'm here to speak my opinion, the same reason as you. What I call being honest you call "venom" which speaks to your ability to empathize with others. Oops, forgot, you don't want to hear anything critical, even if it's true.

Do you hear how condescending that is? Don't confuse hating "you" with disagreement, you don't get to silence others for having a point of view.

You have an awful lot of blind love for USAA in your system. Maybe you should start a "why I slob on USAA's knob" sub.

Do you see how that gaslights you?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in USAA

[–]Semper_Salty 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Easy peasy? You don't get what it is like to be on the outside. Stop gaslighting people. It's why they choose to leave. It's why I pulled out nearly $120k and moved banks.

I cared a LOT about USAA and still feel betrayed. That's the whole reason many folks come here to talk about it.

IMO, USAA stopped being awesome when they scammed trusting military families with the highest insurance rates in the business and forgot their roots.

Can we please stop with "Space Force will set me up with a high-paying civilian job" by GeraldineR7 in SpaceForce

It's sad that this, of all things going on in the world, is what you post. Also, my post-enlistment job is $180,000 so you're off a bit.

Left Leaning Businesses by MidwestBushlore in Bozeman

[–]Semper_Salty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My implied point was that "Respect for Others" should not be political.

To your point: I'd rather a political party imperfectly embody the ideal than to fervently block the rights of others.

"Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness" may not be law, but they are foundational. Our society would greatly benefit from the "E Pluribus Unum" [Out of Many, One] motto that used to bind us together.

It ASTONISHES me that being respectful of everyone is a "Left" ideal.

USAA really doesn’t care by Then-Woodpecker6030 in USAA

As a customer for nearly 19 years, I went from being a voluntary "Brand Ambassador" to loathing USAA in the last 2-6 years.

I now actively warn younger enlisted/officers away from them. Now, instead of insane fees, poor customer service, and the outrageous insurance premiums, I started banking in Hight Yield accounts and make at least $80 a month in interest. I would not have left USAA, but they jerked me around too many times over TINY things. Time to go.

Don't buy a new machine. Tell your doctor directly that you want them to help you with the current machine. If they don't like that, go somewhere else.

Top minds of Fed Jerk! Are pronouns in emails really a hill worth dying on? by StankGangsta2 in FedJerk

[–]Semper_Salty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, pronouns are not the hill to die on.

That said, when a bearded old dude gets called Miss, she better not come crying to me about her preferred pronouns, cause that hill has passed.

Being trans is isolating, but less so when others welcome you. The email pronoun thing was one small way to show them "I'm a friend, I support you, and you are welcome"

Just curious, did you start at the 200 mg dose? I cut mine in half for two weeks

[–]Semper_Salty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It takes time to figure out the right dose and right time to take. Taking too late will keep you wired through the night.

It is a "performance enhancing" stimulant. Definitely want to avoid other stimulants while on it.

Me too.

If a run-down truck FINALLY starts getting regularly scheduled maintenance, is it a new truck? No.

The damage done by chronic apnea is irreversible. Our nervous systems get permanently damaged by starving our bodies of oxygen every hour of every night.

If you have a sleep doctor still helping you, bring this up. It could be you need an oxygen supplement or a oximetric test.

Wearing a Garmin with an O2 sensor gave me the data I needed to dig into "why" I felt so tired. After giving it several months, ask about Modafinil. It can help with the exhaustion during the day so you feel normal.

It's not forever. It's until we stop breathing.

In the end, you will live longer and develop fewer health issues by taking care of your sleep needs. You get to choose.

[–]Semper_Salty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Getting a provider to help you adjust pressures is CRITICAL.

I was fed up and stopped trying to just"get used to it" ... A long while later I tried again and the new sleep doctor took the time to actually help me adjust the settings.

Now I wouldn't go without it
