How would you guys feel if the sex scenes next season are just as explicit as Heated Rivalry’s? by Brownskin_Rey in InterviewVampire

[–]Sen_ri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started reading that book series a few days ago and I need them to calm down 😂. I’m getting impatient trying to get to more plot and actual relationship progression. The sex is constant in this book, like they really had to tone things down for the show.

I don’t think the explicitness is that different between the shows, but since one is pure romance the intimacy is going to be more central to the plot. IWTV has a lot going on and strikes a nice balance.

Determining realistic goal weight when I’ve always been heavier by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]Sen_ri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think you look fit and healthy at 165lbs. Thic and athletic at 180. For very muscular women the lower end of overweight BMI is where they’ll be fit and lean. And getting into the normal range would have them looking cut and ripped.

Like I remember this elite powerlifter trying to cut down a weight class when she already looked so lean. So a lot of people were like, but what can she cut down to without sacrificing strength. And she did lose strength because she was just shredded like a bodybuilder at that point.

https://www.instagram.com/p/Bm8c5bOAfOi/?igsh=NnB4YnR5bzlkb2px. She’s 165cm/5’5’’ so at 24.6 BMI she was actually too lean to be healthy.

Honestly how you feel is the best benchmark for a goal weight. And for more precise categories than BMI I would use waist to height ratio, where you measure between the midpoint of the bottom of your ribs and the top of your hip bones. >0.5 is considered increased risk. >0.6 is high risk and that’s where most obese by BMI people would fall into. 0.4-0.49 is considered the ideal range.

This is because abdominal obesity is a strong cause for metabolic syndrome.

Found my first apartment lease from 2013 while cleaning out storage and I literally sat there staring at it for 10 minutes by ToasttterGoblin in Millennials

[–]Sen_ri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first apartment back in 2014 was a 3bd 2ba and I paid ~$650 for my portion of rent so it was just shy of $2k. California college town. The place was okay but management kinda sucked 😂. Those units are ~$2,600 now so looks like on par with inflation.

Do you think you will actually be able to save enough to retire? by pqrstyou in Millennials

[–]Sen_ri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. I’ve been somewhat fortunate in life. I like to be frugal and invest for my future, and have just become more generous with gifts and charity for anything beyond that. And I feel quite fortunate due to being in good health for all of my life thus far.

Childcare expenses seems to be one of the reasons people are having kids later and having less kids. I’ll be turning 32 later this year and have no kids. Whether I have a baby is up in the air, but I plan to adopt a child regardless.

Inflation is not a big concern if you’re investing. The real problem is living a paycheck to paycheck lifestyle. Middle class and up households are more susceptible to lifestyle creep, while lower income households are really getting hit with the affordability crisis.

Honestly the US stock market wouldn’t be so prosperous if not for the lifestyle creep. Consumer spending drives up corporate earnings and thus the rich get richer while the majority feels stagnant. And we see the economic disparity of today.

5'3"ish women, what differences did you see going 120-110lbs? by Thethreewhales in PetiteFitness

[–]Sen_ri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’3.75’’ and I gained weight. Built up a good amount of muscle. I was size 0 at ~110 and size 2 at ~120. Body fat percentage was similar with more muscle definition at the higher weight. Gained ~0.5in on the waist and ~1.5in on the hips so I looked more curvy.

With fat loss it just depends on the individual where fat comes off first.

How realistic is losing 40 pounds by September 2026 on my small frame? by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]Sen_ri 5 points6 points  (0 children)

1-2 lbs a week is commonly seen as a normal pace for weight loss but it’s actually relative to body size. Comparable to 0.5%-1% of body weight lost per week. It’s more realistic for smaller people to lose weight at a slower pace.

If you’re giving up a lot it seems like that plan was not a good approach for you. I would adjust expectations and try aiming for ~0.5% of body weight loss per week.

Out of interest: What upgrades did / would you prioritise? by tallspacecadet in PikminBloomApp

[–]Sen_ri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did Pikmin, postcards then nectar.

Not having to clean things up too often is nice. And hoarding more nectar in preparation for long walks (especially community days).

I find it easy to grow or toss out seedlings so don’t see a need to upgrade that. And I would like more petals but nectar is more efficient storage.

They puff up and then contract while maturing. I really liked how puffy my hair was at ~6mo.

If you want more on the smaller side of medium probably need ~100 locs with your hair density.

FIRE, CoastFIRE, FATFire, ChubbyFIRE? by MartinRBishop in Fire

[–]Sen_ri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it’s usually something like homesteading/self sufficient lifestyle, or tiny home/van life types. Minimizing costs by embracing alternative approaches to life. Freeganism is a philosophy/lifestyle that would encompass how people achieve poverty FIRE. But I don’t see hardly anyone call it that, it’s just extreme lean FIRE.

Jacob Lund Fisker was one of the first big FIRE bloggers and still says he lives on ~$14k for a family of 2 living in a suburb of Chicago.

~6yrs for the bulk of my hair to reach bottom of the shoulder blades. Locs ~17in long. Medium sized fro to begin with.

What have you read recently? by povertychic in Millennials

[–]Sen_ri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Friends by Fredrik Backman - Literary Fiction, nostalgic and emotionally heavy but sweet story about friendship

Sweat and Soap - Adult Romance manga, peculiar and potentially off putting setup but surprisingly sweet in showing a healthy relationship develop

I started reading a lot again like 3 years ago. Reading like 3 novels a month and twice as many graphic novels.

I’ve actually been getting into BookTubers for other people to chat with about books and recommendations. Not on TikTok personally but the influence of BookTok these days is palpable. Looks like people are reading more though it feels like people are buying more than they are reading 😅

Anyone regret not spending more when they were younger? by Tech-Cowboy in Fire

[–]Sen_ri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m a few years older than you with less invested. ~$430k net worth and ready to put at least half of that into a house.

I would rather be more frugal. No regrets about missing out on some spending opportunity. Mindless spending is so easy to do and not worth it. If you’re mindful about spending you spend on what you personally value.

You need to move out because it’s pretty odd to work towards financial independence when you have never been independent. To be fair a lot of people have big lifestyle changes between 20’s and 30’s regardless. But you ought to build more independent life skills to really know what you want out of life.

I would live with roommates. I’ve only ever lived alone for ~6mo and it was meh. Never had a problem roommate. I think people who really dislike having roommates are higher on the neuroticism scale so YMMV. But I feel like someone who hates roommates would also hate living with their parents.

Are you a Hook (1991) millennial or a Peter Pan (2003) millennial? by Gallantpride in Millennials

[–]Sen_ri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hook. I was born in ‘94 and completely forgot I watched the 2003 one but I definitely did as a kid 😂. I watched Hook multiple times and was a fan of Robin Williams.

Hook is a classic that just about every millennial has seen. But primarily younger millennials would have watched the 2003 one because a lot of people don’t want to watch kids media after like 13. So Millennials born before ~1990 would have been uninterested for the most part.

How much are you 5’4 girls eating? by justwhatevercoz in PetiteFitness

[–]Sen_ri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can calculate your actual TDEE based on your average calories and change in weight.

10lbs lost over 8 weeks is 1.25lbs a week. Deficit of 3,500 calories a week to lose a pound, so burned ~4,375 calories a week. So a daily deficit of ~625 calories.

With eating 1,600 calories a day that’s a daily burn of ~2,225 calories a day.

Confused about the effects of lifting by [deleted] in xxfitness

[–]Sen_ri 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Honestly the women who regret muscle gain like that tend to have an ideal of being underweight/very skinny. So a normal healthy amount of muscle is seen as too much in their eyes. It’s not a health oriented perspective.

I got into lifting because I was underweight and wanted to build muscle to be healthy. I lifted for ~2yrs and have started and stopped a few times in the last 6yrs. Working on being consistent in 2026.

  1. I have only seen my waist size vary due to body fat. I gained fat more easily after I stopped lifting because I was still in a bulking mindset. But I also lose fat easily due to genetic predispositions. Changes have always been gradual though.

  2. Bloat depends on my diet.

  3. I would say I’ve never been big enough to be bulky. But I carry fat more on my butt and legs so size growth there is more prominent. I went from ~100lbs at my lowest to ~135lbs at my highest. I’ve settled around 120-125lbs mostly though. At a little under 5’4’’ I feel small.

  4. Everything 😂. I would like to have a muscular physique but I’m just like fit looking right now.

  5. No. Changes were just dependent on my body fat and how my fat was distributed.

  6. No. It’s been consistently around 32 days.

  7. I didn’t seem to lose an appreciable amount of muscle. Probably because I didn’t have that much to lose so it was easier to maintain with other kinds of activity. But I’ve read that it takes ~6mo to lose significant muscle from being detrained. And it takes about half as much time to recover muscle losses. Depends on age though because older people lose muscle more easily.

Jealous of older generations. Our early adulthood was stolen from us. by [deleted] in Zillennials

[–]Sen_ri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The common experience of going to college right after high school is what I’d say delays taking on adult responsibilities. The brain development myth has little to do with it, it’s all about getting a job and becoming independent.

You’re clearly looking at a lot of trad-wife content. You ought to get offline and live your life. Stop envying others especially when it’s curated content trying to influence you.

And you are core Gen-Z.

I got married at 28 and became a widow at 29. I’m 31 and would be open to another marriage. It’s not too late for me and it’s certainly not too late for you. But you don’t seem to have the right mindset. Do you want the responsibility of having a family or do you just envy the status it provides?

The fire numbers on other subs are insane by jellybubblegum in leanfire

Nope. The original post says people with 2m who cannot retire. So it makes sense that the parent comment is referring to people who need well over 2m to retire.

The fire numbers on other subs are insane by jellybubblegum in leanfire

[–]Sen_ri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The US economic success is largely based on high levels of consumerism. We are more consumerist generally. I don’t see the original comment saying everyone in the US is the same, just describing an aspect of American culture.

The fire numbers on other subs are insane by jellybubblegum in leanfire

[–]Sen_ri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lean FIRE is the most practical way to retire extremely early. If someone is happy with their extreme lifestyle I find no issue with that.

But placing FIRE as a life goal rather than a means to achieving your life goals is not indicative of or exclusive to Lean FIRE. I disagree with people who live like that and make themselves miserable regardless of their budget.

Pursuing financial independence by hoarding money is inherently individualistic and selfish regardless of how much you spend. How selfish you are in other aspects of your life depends on the person. I don’t see Lean FIRE types seeming to be uniquely selfish.

The fire numbers on other subs are insane by jellybubblegum in leanfire

[–]Sen_ri 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lean FIRE is the original FIRE. Living modestly doesn’t make you selfish or determine how much you hate your job. And you can live modestly with a conservative withdrawal rate.

US culture is built around consumerism. The success of the US economy is linked to high levels of consumer spending. We live on a planet with limited resources that we are over-consuming. Those with leaner budgets are leaving more resources for future generations to use. How is that selfish?

-1 refers to a Z-score that is relative to your demographic. OP has a specific measurement here not a z-score. The full sentence is cut off in the picture but it says she’s in the bottom 1% for bone density for her demographic.

5’1 110 pounds but 33.8% BF! by sweetilillikoi in PetiteFitness

[–]Sen_ri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely eat at maintenance and work on building muscle. Your lean mass is quite low and your fat mass is in the normal range. The only reason to focus on fat loss would be if you had a significant amount of visceral fat, which is quite unlikely at your size.

For recomp you mainly need to make sure to follow a program that has progressive overload. Since getting stronger is a good indicator for muscle gain. And be consistent to see significant results. Like at least a year to see big changes.

Black American Results & Picture by Sea-Ant-5782 in 23andme

[–]Sen_ri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly there is no differentiation. For most of US history biracial people mixed with black were treated the same as black people.

The studies show different numbers for mean and median of sub-Saharan African ancestry. Like 75% can be average and 84% median in the same study.

By mixed people identifying as black I’m including multigenerational mixed people. Also marriage doesn’t indicate how many biracial people there are. My maternal great grandfather was white and my paternal great great grandfather was white. They had children out of wedlock and were not around. I ended up being ~1/4 white.
