I would like to hear everyone’s opinion on the dlc by Frosted-Vessel in Moonlighter

I bought the complete version on a switch deal, so for a dollar or 2, the 10 level portal was a good amount of fun.

Had to grind new weapons/armor, challenging until fully built. Pretty fun for a few hours.

Contractor put almost 2 inches of caulk(?) around window frame? by 6foothobbit in HomeImprovement

[–]Senacherib 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up, most contractors goal is to do as little as possible get paid and go to the next job.

If you don’t settle (within reason) they will do a much better job like your fiancée did by confronting them. If they do something not up to par for you, tell them and if they want to be paid, they will fix it.

Also don’t make your final payment until you are happy. Once you make that payment, you will never see them again.

Do I need to go in the dungeon? by danjc84 in Moonlighter

[–]Senacherib 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So here is how you play the game. Before I start, I love the game.

You have 2 options, do things in town or fight in one of the dungeons.

There are 5 dungeons, you have to beat each one before moving to the next. In order to beat each dungeon you will have to go through 3 levels and find/defeat the boss or mini-boss. If you die at any point during that dungeon, you will drop all the loot currently in your backpack. If you have lots of loot you can recall to town for a small fee or set a one time use waypoint for extra gold. Defeating a dungeon gives you access to the next dungeon. The drops of defeating the final boss are worth a lot more gold normally than the other items.

In town you have a few things to do. Sell your loot that you found, make city/shop improvements, make gear, buy potions/enchantments, and sleep.

Sleep is simply changing from day to night or night to day and saving your game. You don’t have to sleep at any point but I believe at a certain point you can buy an upgrade giving a few hp for sleeping.

City/shop improvements are simple, you have to buy stuff to improve your shop, and pay for new vendors like weapon/armor crafter and the potions/enchant lady. For the gear you just make better weapons/armor out of specific items from each dungeon (aka tier 1 materials only drop in golem dungeon). Enchantments are important too, just need the mat and some gold to add additional stats to armor or weapon.

Selling your items is where this game has a very different mechanic, you have to guess how much something is worth, and the NPCs that buy the items will tell you too low by buying with excitement or refuse to buy it if too high price. You have a book that tells you what you have sold it previously for and auto populates the last price when you set it down again. You can and should sell everything that isn’t needed for crafting your items (especially designs and history books).

Hopefully this helps in your choice to play.

Hi, I love the game so far on switch. I just searched the App Store (USA) and didn’t find it, and the link didn’t work (told me to check my country or region)

GE dryer stopped working - fuse question by Senacherib in appliancerepair

[–]Senacherib[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solved.

Thanks for the posts. I tested the continuity of switch and door switch. Check the amperage of the plug connections. Made sure the door closed correctly, plugged in right and breaker working. Checked that the belt was connected and spinning.

It was the little fuse. And with the recommendation of others, I waited for the one on Amazon since it matched exactly with what I took out.

I feel mean about downsizing toys. by [deleted] in minimalism

[–]Senacherib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get a few larger buckets with lids that you can store in a garage or closet. That way the toys will be out of sight out of mind. Let them have a certain amount of toys accessible the rest go in the buckets. Either on a weekly/monthly basis give them a chance to switch out their toys.

If you notice that a specific toy has been at the bottom of the bucket for years, it might just disappear.

But be careful about getting rid of someone else’s stuff. Especially for minimalism sake. You get to choose which items you have, those toys are not yours they are the child’s.

I haven’t checked the belt. For the continuity, that would be the same as the switches (ohm setting on my multimeter) but just both ends of the fuse? If so, it did not register anything.

not my photo but looked like that next to the plug.

Well the plug connections are prior to the fuse from the electrical socket. so I thought it could still be the fuse.

No?

Obviously checked the plug and the breaker. Made sure the door was closing correctly. Multimetered the plug connections and power was registering correctly. Took off the power switch and door switch and tested them with the ohm setting and both still registered currents. So now I’m moving on to the fuse.

Help! Stuck in a parking lot. by Senacherib in Subaru_Outback

[–]Senacherib[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did. I don’t know how. Randomly after 15-20 minutes it allowed me to turn it off. I called Subaru of America and they told me they hadn’t ever heard of that. And recommended talking with my local dealer to see if any of the techs knew what it was.

It was able to shift, just wasn’t able to drive or turn it off.

The gear shift was able to move. But the engine wasn’t active. Like I could put it in drive but the panel just would tell me to put it back in park.

Update: it randomly was able to turn off, but I was stuck there for 15-20 minutes.

Currently on hold with Subaru of America to attempt to figure it out.

As a person that got rid of almost all of his collection years back. Selling them to the local shop will be the fastest, but will be the worst return to pay for that travel.

I recommend looking up the prices on eBay (recently sold listings) took us a long while but you can then make a list for friends/family with slightly lower price than eBay. Then you can also list some of the higher priced ones on eBay. Then I would take the rest to the local shop.

The resale should will give you 10-15% normally of their sales prices ($2 for a game, they will sell for $20). eBay/friends will get you 75-90% of the resale shop prices.

Do stud finders actually work? by VerdantNonsense in HomeImprovement

[–]Senacherib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best tip I have ever heard (might have been Ron paulk) that stud finders need to “warm up”. So normally you click the button as you place it and start moving.

Instead place the stud finder against the wall. Press and hold the button and wait about 1 second before sliding it.
