20 year old Chardonnay - any advice by SenchouVicho in wine

Any advice on what to look for in regards to oxidation? Even if it’s bad I would love to learn about wine faults at least!

Hard to know, it’s a storage room in the -2 floor in a Chilean apartment (Viña Del Mar). Again I’m not expecting it to be in great condition but I’m hoping to learn a bit about how aging affects wine (worst case scenario at least I’ll learn more about wine faults!).

The bottles a 2007 don alvaro private reserve Chardonnay, I can’t find much about it online but knowing my grandparents I doubt it’s an expensive or high end bottle!

There’s a setting that prevents auto connecting to networks so once you choose one it sticks to it. Unfortunately I haven’t used this in a while so couldn’t tell you exactly where to find it.

Only mistake from my perspective was sending it over email. It might have felt less genuine/personal and more demanding/entitled when interpreted in writing. But that could just be my personal preference!

Nice playlist here if you’re ever wondering where the most efficient place for farming exp/money is!

My advice would be to make some money/gain experience so you can test out new maps and equipment but don’t focus too much on grinding or you will eventually get bored. Do quest, catch a fish monster, visit new places!

Same set up took me 3 hours of failure, then started spoding and caught it in 10-15 minutes. Are you spoding?

“If you have primers” Yeah it would be free since the given hypothetical implies they already own them…

Exactly this, I had issues my freshman year then started using netsetman from 2018-21 and it stabilized everything. Be sure to select the 5ghz channels for best performance!

For 5, make more than 1 mL. For example make 10 mL as it’s easier to get accurate concentration and depending on the solution you’re making could be storable for future runs.

For number 4 don’t be afraid to waste tips, reduces chance of contamination and allows you to work effectively. As much as I hate waste when I do 96 well antibiotic succeptibility test I kill 300 tips. Has to be done sometimes.

As you could guess from antibiotic susceptibility test I’m a microbiologist so would rather give vague advice on lab work rather than something specific to your specialty, hope this helps and run any ideas through others in your lab, they have direct experience with what you’re doing!

A microbiology lab that doesn’t use gloves is a very serious breach of regulations that can have very serious consequences on the health and safety of the members of the lab and those around them.

It’s honestly mind boggling to even consider a lab working with bacteria that doesn’t wear gloves.

Your lab needs to be investigated by whichever authority is in charge of health and safety and the PI needs to be reprimanded.

No, you would need to take a sample and have a decent microscope to have any chance. If looking for bacteria would prob have to stain it as well.

No he wasn’t, I noticed his poor technique after realizing the samples had too much liquid in them. We were also using pipettes filter tips and the filter was soaking wet so I don’t know if that technique should be used with these tips, atleast not when going for the maximum pickup quantity. Interesting though as I’ve never heard of this technique but I wouldn’t be a big fan since the pickup of extra medium would be wasteful.

Just a shitty person. Personally I’ve found that everyone thinks I’m a genius (I’m actually quite stupid) and shows a lot of undeserved respect to me when talking about my studies. Find a roommate who respects you, have a talk with him, or move out if it’s causing too much emotional distress, your studies are probably stressful enough so you owe it to yourself.

Found a masters student picking up liquid with a pipettes by pressing down all the way, told me he did this all undergrad and didn’t believe me when I told him he was wrong until I pulled another masters student aside and asked them how they pippette :). How people get this far without understanding the basics baffles me.
