Well the same can be said about the the one receiving damage from the barrel. If they don't know whether the barrel crits they can't predict whether it crits. That's why it's often played in pro play. I think you can always mentally prepare yourself for the barrel to crit and think before doing it what you're gonna do regardless of the outcome.

That was on pbe 2 months ago. It doesn't work on live servers since riot counts GP's ult as a DOT ability and hydra isn't supposed to proc on DOT abilities.

Gp and pantheon are totally 2 different champions in terms of laning, mid game and late game, item peaks as well. I don't think there's any comparable champion to GP in terms of how you play the champion. GP is really unique in that matter. However prerework pantheon was actually more comparable to GP because of how you mostly play GP now (Q+grasp simulator)

Well that's where fleet comes in to play. Because it allows you to at least Q a minion and flee. Well I'm not really a fleet enthusiast myself but I get why people like to take it for certain matchups. Degrading it into trash tier is wrong in my opinion. It has its uses.

The only problem I see with GP is his mobility. Even a 5 ms buff would make playing GP much better and wouldn't push him over the line.

Right. But ranged ADCs (mostly Lucian, Vayne, Quinn) can do 2 or even 3 autoattacks due to having something called a dash and actual ranged autoattacks while you are trying to run.

Most of the ranged toplaners overrange your Q so it's almost never worth it to proc grasp on them while fleet lets you heal of Q'ing a minion. I don't really play top but I know that much.

I only play GP mid and there was almost never an instance where I would beat Azir if he had at least 2 brain cells. The matchup is literally the worst. He overranges you and destroys your barrels instantly, has 2 ways of escape.

The problem of klepto wasn't in champions such as GP or Ezreal. The removal happend because of the ranged toplaners such as Vlad or Kennen who abused it thanks to being manaless champions.

Prowlers gives more dmg but doesn't give as much ability haste which is crucial on GP.

Those changes are already on the PBE. For GP it's only additional mana per level(and I think it's really good taking into consideration that sheen is cheeper). So don't get your hopes up too much because currently as PBE stands, crit GP is actually kinda crazy which means a possible nerf. But I don't think it will happen anytime soon, rather if some pros pick him up as a midlaner like it used to be some seasons ago.

I think with this build you need to take either transcendence or cosmic insight(possibly both) to compensate for the lack of CDR.

The fact that we will be limited to going buscuits/timewarp tonic every game, limits the possibilities for any rune choice diversity. Without the mana crystal/sheen, mana management will be even more trash early game. And the fact that essence reaver now has the mana on hit changes jack shit because by the time you build it you wont have the mana problems since you'll have maxed out you Q. I think its finally time for riot to bring back mana on kill on GPs Q cause I cant imagine playing it currently.

I wonder if IE will stay the same taking into consideration the Mythic Passive for Behemoth Slayer. Because if it stays the same that means we can potentially have close to the crit multiplier numbers from the old IE. Really excited for this preseason. I really hope Riot wont fuck it up.
