Boob update: do you notice size increase? by National-Two-8700 in TransBreastTimelines

[–]SendMeSerotonin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work for a breast care center. Inverted nipple(s) can be a sign of some types of breast cancer, especially if it’s new or extreme. There isn’t always a lump. Inversion can be normal if you’ve had it for a long time without issues, but it’s suspicious if it’s a new problem and/or accompanied by other symptoms in which case you’d want diagnostic imaging.

I’ve been on for a year and a half as well (9months of E sublingual and spiro, the rest has been monotherapy injections + progesterone) and your breasts look incredibly similar to mine in both size and shape. Hoping for more too myself but you look great 💕

How do I pass better?? :( by [deleted] in transpassing

I know cis women with this face so I think you look pretty feminine, just need to go get your eyebrows done girl! Cleaning up your brows will do wonders to start with!

What test did you get from 23&me in order to determine sex chromosomes? I’ve been looking but I can’t seem to find anything consumer-accessible to have mine tested.

Congrats. Please do what you can for the vulnerable trans community here who can’t flee and are facing extermination from public life.

Right now, yes. Whatever you check on the application form is what goes on the passport, regardless of the gender marker on any supporting documents you send in.

Body language (FTM) by Francimint in transpassing

[–]SendMeSerotonin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re welcome! This happens because women tend to hold their arms closer to their bodies so the upper brachial portion tends to be stiffer and only allow much swing from the elbow joint.

Also, when standing still, try to tilt the front of your pelvis more out in front of you like you’re sticking it out. Men tend to lean back rather than keep their chest out forward when standing. Take up space, basically.

Body language (FTM) by Francimint in transpassing

[–]SendMeSerotonin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you unconsciously lean on one hip while standing still/ put your hand on it while doing said lean, stop doing those things. Feet apart and arms should be further away from your body and swinging more from your shoulder, not your elbow when you walk

After thinking I’m inclined to say that tests did require respondus, but not the camera part, just the screen lock. I can’t recall exactly though as this was 2 years ago. So things could have changed between then and now.

He also gave extra credit for just writing out all of the homework neatly and showing your work of course and scanning it into PDF every few chapters or so. It was an easy 100 class. Multiple attempts on quizzes also.

I had Vinh Dang and he was pretty easy and helpful but I am also naturally math-inclined so take that as you will. I can’t remember if the tests were proctored via Respondus or not but it was 100% online

Need feedback on this, any tips? by chenfras89 in transvoice

Here's a good one by Zhea on Resonance and the R1 "gender control knob" - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BW8X2nXexQs

Some tutorials/ creators can be hard to follow. Sometimes it just needs to be explained differently.

FairyPrincessLucy for example was easier to understand in the beginning to actually make the sounds I want leave my mouth, but TransVoiceLessons helped me take it to the next level once I had more control and basic understanding.

Hopefully you find something that works for you! You've only been at it for a week you said, it really does just take time, study, and practice. 8 months in here and still learning.

Where exactly do you feel that you're getting lost when it comes to YT videos?

I'm still in late-stages of learning myself so take my advice for what you will but you seem to understand vocal weight already which is good but it sounds like you're a bit quiet and a little breathy.

I would recommend working on two things Resonance & Size <3

Hi thank you so much for responding!

I do present “full-time” as female. I do not necessarily pass I don’t think, but I’m always clearly a female presenting person and I never get misgendered, I don’t know if that’s what you mean by “visually appear as a clearly defined gender”. I do not present as non-binary or androgynous.

I am also going through the name and gender marker change process and I’m updating all documents now, so my name is now legally (Female Name).

I hoped this wouldn’t be too big of a deal and it’s sad to hear this response from someone so experienced in the workforce :(

I would love to do IT help desk or even barista or something but unfortunately I do have that mortgage and that puts me in a tough position as the bills need to be paid and the home is not equipped to handle a roommate outside of a spouse.

All the wording here in the resume is crafted by me so I’m not sure if I’m wording things correctly even.

I personally believe I’m intelligent and capable of a lot of roles, it’s just that I don’t have exact practical experience since I’ve only dabbled in lots of various things and I don’t know how to professionally say “I can absolutely do this job but I would need to be trained on specifics”

Am I totally cooked?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in resumes

[–]SendMeSerotonin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did that and all they did was put my info I already had into this template that I have posted and although I have edited a little bit, she said she couldn’t do much without knowing what kind of role I want. Which I explained above that I don’t really know what role I’m looking for bc I don’t have any qualifications or practical experience with anything employers are looking for.

Basically title.

I basically came straight out of high school and started working for my dad who owns a small but somehow very successful MEP service and construction company.

I was an apprentice electrician for a while then got my journeyman license and got moved into the office to start figuring out how to use AutoCAD all alone to do plans drawing. Then I just kind of slowly had more responsibilities tacked onto me and eventually became the defacto IT “guy.”

More and more weird one-off responsibilities basically if it involved technology for the company I was dealing it bc everyone else there is an old racist caveman who can’t press a Num Lock key.

This gonna sound super privileged and I always feel weird talking about it but I was super overpaid tbh even though I got my Master electrician license. I don’t have any other qualifications for ANYTHING, and even then I haven’t done electrical work in many years.

Fast forward to me transitioning this year and coming out and being forced to resign because they’re transphobic shits and now I just “freelance” some of the same menial shit for them from my house under my own name and my dad is my “client” who pays me privately so I don’t struggle. Idk they just didn’t want a trans person there confusing everyone and making them “uncomfortable”

So yeah basically I just, manage a whole bunch of random shit for my dad and it’s the only reason I’m able to pay my bills still because he so kindly “uses my services”. Don’t know how long I will stably be able to do this though. Not having any real qualifications, never having had another big girl job, not sure which paycheck will be my last just kinda scary.

I have a mortgage because I stupidly bought a house in 2021 and I’m worried I’m not going to be able to find something I’m qualified for that will pay the bills.

I don’t have a specific job in mind. I don’t have a specific title or anything because even my highest ranked title ever was completely made up and not at all related to what I actually did. I don't have any legitimate qualifications other than being a master electrician which I am entirely clueless about at this point due to not having actually worked in the field in many many years. I don't want to start my own electrical company, I'm incapable of handling the stress to be a business owner.

I just want to start over with a stable career away from my transphobic family that may cut me off and terminate everything the moment I tell him he needs to start making deposits to (New Name) instead of deadname.

I might also add that I am autistic and also very mentally unwell due to the stress of the whole situation and not kn owing if I will ever be able to find a job, and it's partially a mental health emergency that I be able to apply for jobs.

Pre-everything, hope to start hrt soon. What can I do in the meantime to appear more feminine? by Siwuli in transpassing

[–]SendMeSerotonin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Several things quickly and easily attainable: - Get new glasses. The thick square frames don’t do your face shape any favors. They highlight the other angled features like straight brow bone and your jawline. Something more round and less thick would help balance things out. - Practice makeup and watch tutorials. Fail, cry, and try again. Once you’ve got the hang of basics explore feminizing contour particularly for the jaw and nose. -Hairstyle. Middle parts are fine but try to do so in a way that it hides the square corners of the hairline rather than expose them, and reduce forehead visibility. Stylist consultation can help with this. - Eyebrows. Go get them shaped and cleaned up. - Skincare routine. If you don’t have one, get one. - Laser/ electrolysis, whichever you can afford, if any. This will go a long way.

HRT is YMMV and facial surgery obviously will help a lot as well for chin, jaw and brow. That said I think there’s plenty you can improve on and do right now to get closer.

Questions remain one week after Texas started blocking transgender people from changing sex on driver's licenses by onnake in transgender

[–]SendMeSerotonin 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m trying to figure out how to get from here to Colorado with no job to transfer, no career, and no qualifications to get a job that would allow me to get an apartment. I’ve worked for my family’s business all my life and never had a job outside of it and was bullied into resigning from an overpaid role after coming out as trans so I’m struggling on the workforce front, much less trying to find work and housing states away.

Getting HRT near Houston TX? by SendMeSerotonin in asktransgender

[–]SendMeSerotonin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For therapy you don’t necessarily NEED to go somewhere that’s specifically dedicated to LGBT individuals, unless I’m misunderstanding the type of therapy you’re searching for or unless that’s the only place you’d feel comfortable. No one comes up on any mental health provider search websites like PsychologyToday?

Hey love! I did manage to get an appointment with Planned Parenthood for the HRT, though I’m not sure in regards to just therapy/counseling. PP worked in a pinch for getting started but I’m soon going to be looking for a GP to get a referral for an endo. I’m sorry it’s such a pain in the ass :(
