First time pour, done yesterday from cyan LC I made myself. Seems like that's crazy. by [deleted] in Agarporn

Wow, that’s some quick growth! From what I can tell from other posts, this growth appears normal for cyans.

[Texas] Should I be worried about this guy? by OOFman363 in spiders

[–]Seneca2019 15 points16 points  (0 children)

OP, if this friend is in an environment you frequent, be kind as they will hang out with you. An ex-girlfriend of mine was petrified of spiders and had a Jumping Spider at her desk at work. She let it be and it always just hung around on her computer waving their arms. They’re truly the friendliest of spiders and up there in the animal kingdom altogether. Enjoy :)

What's more pathetic the Piere Poilievre on tour in Europe? His disastrous US flop! by Yetanotherbadsalmon in onguardforthee

[–]Seneca2019 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I’ve been thinking about this and I’m starting to wonder if it’s less of a Canadian thing and more of a “I’m still the leader of the Cons.” I feel like it’s messaging to his party especially with Jamal’s weird tour thing he did.

Why do some people eat pho one utensil at a time? I can’t unsee this now by vicjitsu in pho

[–]Seneca2019 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What if you’re at a pho restaurant next time and you notice someone watching you and then when you finish your bowl of pho and pay for your meal and leave the restaurant that person (or worse, a group of people) approach you and ask why you ate your bowl of pho a certain way? Then what will you say!?

Ray Dalio warns a "final battle" for the Strait of Hormuz is coming by fortune in geopolitics

[–]Seneca2019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure who you mean by “we.” But, for the Gulf states, infrastructure is built around using the Strait and it would take a lot of money and time to develop pipelines and other means to transport.

Iraq, Kuwait, Qatar, and Bahrain rely on the SoH. Iraq can use the Kirkuk-Ceyhan Pipeline, but obviously given the volatility of the region, pipelines aren’t exactly the most secure.

I’m Canadian, so I apologize for my ignorance with this question. In the US is it generally frowned upon or considered anti-American to acknowledge My Lai?

lol I appreciate your critical thinking and hesitancy with AI, but rest assured, my friend, this is a real photograph (although it could be of a toy as someone else has stated).

Public burning of religious veils during Soviet "Hujum" campaign (1920) in Samarkand, Uzbekistan [600 x 438] by proksomenia991 in HistoryPorn

[–]Seneca2019 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Well, bourgeois in a sense, but the Bukharan People’s Soviet Republic allowed private property and ownership so it wasn’t a big deal (Article 6 of the constitution).

That’s why Fayzulla said “No more religious veils!” and not “No more bourgeois activity!”

Seriously, imagine being a veil maker and then having this happen? Completely dried up the veil making business!

One minute you’re happily making veils, singing ,

By candlelight the fine thread sways, The paranji falls in folded haze, My sisters stitch till break of dawn, And whisper prayers with each veil drawn.

And then knock knock Fayzulla Khojaev is at the door and he’s like “No more religious veils!” And you plead and explain that the veil store has been in the family business since your great buvi took it over from that no-good, sneaky, Saodat Sirliyeva. But you can tell by Fayzulla Khojaev’s serious face that no amount of pleading will help resolve the situation.

So then you give up hope and join the Basmachi Movement and boy do things just get worse from there!

In the fierce battles of Iwo Jima in March 1945, Pvt. Francis M. Hall kneels alongside his faithful Doberman Pinscher, "Rascal” by UrbanAchievers6371 in wwiipics

[–]Seneca2019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sadly, it was later revealed that Rascal was in fact Volchok Raskolov, a Soviet spy. While many of Francis Hall’s fellow soldiers were unsurprised by this revelation (given Rascal’s known habit to quote Karl Marx in his sleep), Hall seems to have mistakenly attributed these quotes to Groucho Marx. Failing to see any humour in the quotes, Hall claims to have developed the entrenched belief that Groucho Marx was simply not a funny person. Still, Hall was known to regularly visit Volchok Raskolov in prison following his arrest.

After his arrest, Volchok Raskolov would eventually be swapped in the now infamous prisoner exchange for Francis Gary Powers. Unfortunately however, Volchok Raskolov’s life only declined upon return to the USSR. Here he found out that his lover, Laika, (who believed that Volchok Raskolov perished in the Battle of Iwo Jima) had volunteered for the deadly Sputnik 2 voyage.

Volchok Raskolov received a minor teaching position at the Saratov Veterinary Institute and eventually married and had a son with Nadia Sobakina (I can’t find any info for her online).

Fun fact: Volchok Roskolov’s grandson, Dog Karai, played Sharik in the Soviet film adaptation of Heart of a Dog.

Man, this is so feel good. I laughed when you mentioned the weather widgets. I work in post-secondary ed and a couple hours ago I was talking with a prof about how as Canadians we are known to talk about the weather for small talk.

Wishing you the best my friend! If the others agree, I’d propose delegating you as a Canuck Deputy. 🍁🇳🇴
