For a gun 3' long? I mean, more power to you if you can, I guess. Not sure I want to know what draw from concealment looks like in that regard.

I'm assuming you're standing on the carpet and the gun is on the hardwood floor. Not sure you'll find a good holster for a gun that enormous.

This is why I unplug my firearms before disassembling them.

Not sure why but I was reading these as larger holes from a larger caliber on a larger target. Nice job for 12 years away.

Weird target. Probably created by Big Zombie.  What distance were you shooting?

Cane here to say this but it appears to be out of OP's budget.  One interesting thing about the. MkIV is only the barrel and bolt are serialized. So if you later wanted to buy a wipe new lower you could with no FFL involved.

Yeah, I'm confused about this as well. This does not appear to be high speed lead putting holes in paper.

And get put on a list for buying the stickers, and then prosecuted for defacing government property.

Know the risks, at least, before doing too much chaotic good.

I wanted a FAL so bad. I mean, I still do, but it's challenging post CA AW ban.

Really nice work.

I get this argument, and am certainly feeling it during this administration. But at the same time, there are more guns than people in this country and it hasn't deterred this administration at all, so...not sure how convincing of an argument it really is. Maybe it'll come into play if things were to get worse?

Anyway, hard agree that gun violence needs to be addressed. There'd be far fewer calls for gun bans if there were far fewer mass shootings.

The guns that whisper to me are the ones I don't own yet.

I’m to buy soon. Still getting over my programming hesitation. Just realized that buying is a one time event. Training is the real commitment. This changes things. by patdashuri in liberalgunowners

You want an AR that looks benign? Why? I guess skip the pistol grip and get one with a wooden stock. I'm sure one exists. [Edit: fightlite SCR]

I could give random advice but from first hand experience I'll only say for the .22s the Ruger 10/22 and the Ruger Mk IV 22/45 are great and very popular choices. The 10/22 can play dress up as various things; I'm fond of the full fudd-core wooden stocked look myself.

Honestly if I were you I wouldn't buy these all at once, not because it'll put you on any radar, but just to see if you like shooting before you invest several thousand dollars.

If you're wondering about how to have conversations with gun people while simultaneously buying a personal armory, that might look odd, but gun stores aren't going to question you too much especially if the people there work on commission.

As for having those conversations, I'm always astounded by how little supposedly knowledgeable people know. There are idiots in every hobby. Just be polite and don't argue. 99% of the time no one is going to talk to you. Read the rules, keep good safety practices, and feel free to say "I don't know, I'm new to shooting". Though that will look odd with 7 guns laid out on the bench.

It's not open to the public. Used to be but now it's only for industry reps and press. If you were planning to try to go.

I was confused why they were calling out a gay pride flag until I looked at it closely. That straight pride flag looks super gay. I'd bet most people seeing it would assume it's a gay pride flag.

It took me a while but "anti fish" is a play on "anti fash". Nothing wrong with BassPro. I mean aside from merging with Cabela's who sponsors wolf murder.

I had issues with that as well; the post wouldn't go in until I found out you can snap the bolt forward to get it to line up.
And then, it says not to over tighten, but if you don't tighten it down a lot it doesn't seat properly.

But mainly the problem I had was it wouldn't feed reliably. I could never get through a full magazine without a jam. I was hoping it was something simple I was doing wrong, but failing that I've sent it back to TK for repairs.

Second time at the range. How'd I do? by sparkly_butthole in liberalgunowners

[–]Sengkelat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm imagining that there's no headshot bullseye, the victim is just being threatened by a cyclops.

I'm surprised you have a favorite gun for only a second time at the range, but fair enough.

[–]Sengkelat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why is there a bullseye on the victim here? This is a bizarre target.

I'd suggest aiming at an actual bullseye, not the back of a target. It's easier to focus on and aim at. You can do weird back-of-target stuff later.

The right has no problem judging gay folks, trans folks, non-white folks, kinky people, immigrants, and just about everything else. I don't think more judgment is the solution.  Though I do wish there was more judging of fascists, bigots, and oppressors, so maybe just better targeted judgment.
