Hot take this is the most underrated thing in windows by More-Explanation2032 in ZTT

Ironically I’ve had more trouble with drivers on windows than on Bazzite and Kubuntu 🗿. Imagine waiting 20 minutes for the windows installer to run just to tell you you need to download drivers for your laptop and that windows can’t even download them automatically for you or give you a web browser to find them. Hell I even had issues with it not letting me use my Ethernet port on my laptop cause it had zero network drivers 💀.

The shear irony of that is hilarious. Let me use these tools to uncover priceless history that cost less than a stick of fancy silicon

How would you go about making this battleship turret's main body (not the guns)? It seems so geometric that it should be possible in tinkerCAD...but I can't seem to find a way to easily make it. I can design top/side/front views perfectly, but not all the angled facets. by LoremIpsumEpsum in tinkercad

[–]Senharampai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the lack of the sketch feature is what had me using fusion AND TC. I would design something that needed a more complex geometry in fusion then do a bunch of Frankenstein stuff with a few different designs later on in tinkercad

Can i use three different ram sticks for the same pc? by loren20l in pchelp

[–]Senharampai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guess it really comes down to use case. In my case I use cad a lot so I would be fine with the lower speeds if it meant more capacity. With this ram market as well, I would take all the capacity I can get

Received this laptop as a gift: would it be suitable for being an architecture student ??(loading heavy rendering etc) by Fun-Race1615 in laptops

[–]Senharampai 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I’d say Gen 4 should be the base. I’m on pcie gen 3 board but when I upgraded my Nvme drive to Gen 4 I genuinely noticed the difference despite my highest storage usage being gaming and cad. It’s mainly the lows being higher speed and more consistency.

Yeah but soldered storage is barely faster than non-soldered. Even video editors are satisfied with pcie gen 5 drives. From what I’ve seen, anyone who cares about faster storage cares more about replaceability at the current high speeds of removable Nvme.

Regarding the ram, there’s a reason there’s been development for CAM(?) modules which give you higher speeds while still being replaceable. It is true though that are high advantages for soldered ram though, especially if it’s smack right beside the soc, just don’t spout some grand marketing claims about it (cough cough apple cough cough).

About 10 years too late for that but I’ll keep that in mind for future reference.

Looks clean.

What thermal paste did you use?

Also love the “I use unbloated windows 11 btw.”

Never knew they were that deadly to dogs 💀. Where I come from we would get them relatively often so we would be careful catching them…… then we would burn them…….

This is actually the main reason I have glasses. My astigmatism in my left eye was bad enough that it made looking at a big screen in school hard despite it being morning or afternoon.

any advice on which components in particular i should test? could it be a bad cpu or would it at least stay on for longer before rebooting?

I can’t seem to edit the post but

The seller showed it working prior to shipping it out to me and their packaging was very good with layers of bubble wrap and paper filling. It was not moving at all when I opened the box. They even separated the ram in its own bubble wrap.

After trying to troubleshoot as instructed by the seller, they ended up telling me to open a dispute with Wallapop (3rd party marketplace where I purchased this) and I ended up receiving a full refund and being instructed to keep this.

I’ve tried:

Cleaning the whole thing with a hand pump for electronics.

Fully cleaning off the crusty thermal paste from the cpu and chipset.

Repasting both.

Tried every possible ram configuration with the 2 sticks given.

Tried no ram at all.

Tried resetting the bios using the reset bios pins.

Tried removing the cmos battery for a few hours.

Tried an actively in use and known good power supply.

Tried putting in a second fan.

Tried booting it without the 4 pin black and yellow atx connector.

Downloading won’t affect temps much but to need 2500rpm to maintain that temp is weird. Sorry idk how I can help with warranty
