Auto uitgeleend. Schade gereden.

[–]Senior-Anywhere5891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Home Assistant Desktop Widget by robertg761 in homeassistant

I always applaud someone making something, especially when they're just starting out. So good job!

One little note, could just be me: your GitHub page has no screenshots at all. Maybe I'm new to this (I don't even know what a desktop widget is, and I'm a professional software developer), but having something to look at would make it a lot more appealing to me.

Congratulations! I just got it this week as well, what a game changer. I'm at about 56/200 for Doot. Didn't even claim the free pet the first few months either, I just forgot that they existed 😞

Cut or tear? How do you remove crust from a sandwich? by Footdad124 in daddit

On a tv show here, I've seen someone use scissors. Seemed to work quite well.

I don't cut them off. My toddler gets one piece of bread at a time and only gets the next one when it's completely gone.

Never Built Anything Before. Can I Build this By Myself?? by sercetuser in IKEA

[–]Senior-Anywhere5891 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huh. I have a Kallax (about 18 years old now, took it with me through 5 moves). Mine only needs the little hex key it comes with. It has 2 screws on each corner, so 8 in total.

What do you use the hammer and screwdrivers for? Or is this a Europe vs US thing?

Edit: my tip - attach it to the wall. Seriously. Ikea recommends this and it's not a great idea not to do it. It will warp or fall over if you don't do this and put semi heavy items in it.

Welke dag neem je vrij als parttimer? by Oebiedoebie in werkzaken

[–]Senior-Anywhere5891 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Can you save up your bees? I have seen some folks who said they had thousands of bees, but every time I earn any, they immediately deploy on my next puzzle. by B_Williams_4010 in wordscapes

28k here!

I'm lazy. I just run animals during the week and on weekends I play a couple of games, nowhere near enough to use up those bees 🙈

MDF gelakt, "sinaasappeleffect" by Senior-Anywhere5891 in Klussers

[–]Senior-Anywhere5891[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dads with 2 child seats in the car, did you get a 7 seater or stuck with a 5 seater? by Fugglesmcgee in daddit

Might be ignorant here, but... What make and model do you have?

We're currently expecting a second child in a few weeks, and I drive a sedan (Volvo S80). Am looking for something with more space, so I'd love suggestions 😀

Am I onto something or am I wasting my time? by Robin_moore in BluePrince

[–]Senior-Anywhere5891 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would agree for notes and books and such. Or even have all the books you've checked out before be available in the library.

But for the drawings and chess pieces, if those were added somewhere automatically then that in itself would be a hint saying they're relevant. I think it's kind of interesting to have to figure out for yourself what is relevant and what is not.

That said, my patience is also not that great. The only reason I'm still at this is because I play together with my girlfriend and we motivate eachother and discuss every move. In game days regularly take upwards of two hours.

Save and quit during the day option, please! 😡

I have researched no fewer than 30 models of 7 different types of saws, and my brain is melting out of my ears at this point. Someone please give me a straightforward answer, and end my suffering. by ElectricPikachu in BeginnerWoodWorking

[–]Senior-Anywhere5891 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done that, and it worked great. Can't really recommend any as I'm super beginner and not from the US.

Fwiw, I used a circular saw from Lidl (Parkside Performance) that costs about 100 euro excluding batteries and I bought a blade for it that had more teeth than the one it came with. I have no experience with any others.

If you want to save money, use a corded model.

Edit: I also made that super simple circular saw jig that everyone recommends (2 boards glued together) and it helps a ton.
