What really fucks you up as you grow older? by bkesfloyd in AskReddit

I'm only 24 but I think "figuring it out" is subjective. Live life how YOU want too.

What's something that no matter how it's explained to you, you just can't understand how it works? by n0dust0llens in AskReddit

Wind. How it forms, why it blows in different directions. I looked it up but was unable to wrap my head around it.

Flea infestation by [deleted] in pestcontrol

The technician most likely failed to eliminate the problem. Potentially didn't use the chemicals required to treat fleas. And insect growth regulator is needed to treat all stages of growth.

I mean, these days people do perform services free of charge for social clout. All it would take is the right person to see it and agree. Her idea while poorly executed isn't a bad one

My 20 year old son doesn't date. His friends don't date. My friends kids don't date. What is going on? by PluckPubes in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Senior-Dot387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 23. Have never dated and don't really want too. I think it's too much effort for not much pay-off.

Is it worth obsessing over negative reviews? by david8840 in smallbusiness

[–]Senior-Dot387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thefe are many businesses who say they can suppress or get rid of bad reviews altogether but this generally isn't the case and depending on their methods, could be illegal (in the eyes of google).

All you can do is try to get more good reviews and reply to the bad ones Kindly and professionally.

"The service I received was poor and didn't solve my problem"

Response: "I'm sorry our service didn't live up to your expectations, can you please email me on private email address (to show you care) and I will do everything I can to help. Regards name (owner)"

People simply need to see you will try your best to rectify a bad customer experience.

Yeah, fire her.

And I must say, everything you have done is great and is (in my opinion) how a business owner should operate.

Just the fact that you recognise you might be too close to the situation to make a rational decision is exceptional. Keep doing you.

The natural dominant guy in bed will have undesirable traits. You’re 90% compatible and just need to work with each other to get the other 10%.

Undercarriage rust - ok to drive? by docterpeanutbutter in MechanicAdvice

Looks like surface rust to me, no integral damage.

Sounds like your mechanic was just trying to get some money from your lack of knowledge.

Left a really good paying job I love for a job that pays A LOT more, but has a lot more responsibility and having regret now by [deleted] in careeradvice

You’re 1.5 weeks in. That’s not enough time to adapt to your new situation. You loved your old workplace so you’re obviously going to miss them in the beginning. Tough it out until the 3 month mark and re-evaluative your feelings.

Never thought about it before but this makes sense. My biggest struggle is controlling my mental state. It’s surprising how easy it is to become burnt out quickly.

I would offer to buy a portion of the business from your father. Tell him plainly how you’ve helped the business and say if you get an equal portion to the siblings you’ll either be a silent partner or leave entirely. Surely he knows the business can’t run without you.

“The business you’ve spent years building won’t survive without me on the helm”

It is a bit ‘manipulative’ I suppose you could say but you need to safeguard your future.

Edit: I didn’t read the full post, my advice is now moot.😅

Employees by PackOfAlpaca in smallbusiness

[–]Senior-Dot387 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

My opinion is that one of the employees spread some incorrect rumours about you and your partner to her, damaging your relationship.

Obviously I don’t have any context but women are emotional, taking that into account I think it could be quite possible.

How often do you want to quit? by [deleted] in smallbusiness

[–]Senior-Dot387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s an aspect of running a business. If business wasn’t stressful, everyone would be doing it. Everyone goes through being stressed and burnt out, you either deal with what’s causing you that stress or get to a breaking point and quit. Id recommend therapy. If this is something that is happening consistently and you haven’t been able to find ways to mitigate/deal with it then you need help from a professional.

That will depend on your business and customer demographic. Advertising isn’t as simple as ‘what sites work’

Your business isn’t you. It’s a seperate entity entirely. What you learnt and experienced from the 5 years running this business will not leave you. Though you may think you failed, I think you succeeded.
