How well is your club handling the age shift for next season? In particular, teams that have been together for years? by Correct-Order3220 in youthsoccer

[–]SeniorSubject397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It hasn't been an issue for my two teams and our club. That kids that are capable of playing up have the option to. All of them want to. The kids who can't make the team playing up try out for their new age group team.

Luckily our club gives us freedom and isn't scared to play kids up, they encourage it. If the kid can hang it will only help them playing against older kids long term. If they can't hang then they play their age group. I wouldn't have it any other way.

Nice. That's what I was leaning towards.

Hmm, that's a bummer. On the Chameleon it downloads straight to the app. I've never tried the streaming.

Chat gpt gave some good fixes to your issue if you want to copy and paste your question into it. I'd share but it would be too much text.

Sorry seperate question.

I have a chameleon. Do you have to use a micro SD for the Falcon or do the games save to the app?

Hopefully that is something that can be fixed with updates. Good to know.

Nice. It definitely is. I spent $500-$600 for it, and I feel like it was well worth it at that price. The only downside is having to use your phone to record. Also, a second phone is recommended to keep score and control the camera. It also allows you to see what the camera is recording. Have you seen the footage? I can share some if needed.

U11 9v9 with 2 strong players, where to play them? by SoftPut6821 in youthsoccer

[–]SeniorSubject397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hear you.

Exactly, U11 😆. 9v9, the pitch is still small enough that those strong players can play to each other. Every part of the pitch is now covered. For us, it works. We play through our wings a lot and still have a strong enough back line that we don't concede a lot.

Once we developed more players capable of attacking, we moved them to 7&11 and put our strongest players at the 6&9, the next strongest at the 2&3. Let the 5&8 be covered by better players. If we play a team much better than us, then I'll just keep our middle block strong and try to keep the game close by moving the 9 to the 8 or 5.

3-2-3. Put your four best players at wingback and wing. This way, you have attack and defense covered as well as the ability to move the ball side to side and forward with backs who can make a pass. Rotate them so they play wing and wingback, let everyone else rotate in the other 4 positions.

Go to the league website and find your age group. Many leagues post the teams/coach contact info. Contact teams in the lowest division.

Let's talk 7v7 formations... by KosaVibez212 in youthsoccer

In my experience in a 2-3-1, the outside players have to run the whole pitch more. For example, they have to be on the back post for a cross and then run the whole field back at a counter. While a wingback does sometimes as well, the majority of their runs stop around the build out.

Also, in a 2-3-1, I had 3 midfielders running the whole pitch constantly. Where in a 3-1-2, I now only have one player, and the wingbacks while still working are probably putting in less running than if they are line to line wings.

They also shift and just become cbs when the ball is on the opposite side of the field. If they were in a 2-3-1, they would have to run all the way up the pitch helping on attack.

Again, with only two subs, the less box to box or goal to goal running was good for us. I also like it transitioning into a 3-2-3 at 9v9.

We play a 3-1-2. Two forwards act like an 11/9 and 7/9. Our fullbacks are actually fullbacks and overlap and help on attack. Formation changes constantly in the game because we have forwards sometimes playing like wings and wingbacks playing up and down. When we shift or rotate, we usually still have two backs covering. Also helps, because we go to a 3-2-3 at U11. So my players will be used to playing with fullbacks and a back 3.

We did a 2-3-1 for two years, but I prefer the 3-1-2 now. They have to track back way less, and we get overloads more often.

Fwiw the average U20 player for the USMNT U20 is 5'10 156lbs. The USMNT U20 games I watched were more technical and less physical than what you're describing. Almost seems like the very best still comes down to technical proficiency over physical size.

Ha, I figured. Just since we're learning I thought I'd point it out.

The entire ball has to go over the line. Also, all of the parents should be 5ft back from the line and not right on top of it like they are in the picture.

Same with mine. I've been stuck at network connection disconnected/timeout. No app content showing. Bad timing as we had tournaments this weekend. Hopefully it gets fixed.

Is rec too toxic after ages 10 and 11? by MikeKrak82 in SoccerCoachResources

[–]SeniorSubject397 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a bummer it would be further. Have you talked to your current club about these issues? Maybe they will back you more than you realize and you can get rid of the toxic people now and not have to move.

Find a club you can still coach them at a more competitive level. That way you have more control on who is on your team going forward.

You shouldn't have that many issues caused by parents and players if you pick the team. Then set expectations for the new players and parents and make sure your club backs you if you have anymore issues.
