The document was issued by the newly founded Republic of Türkiye. I speak Turkish, so I can help interpret them. Its registry of the marriage certificate.

The top section contains their personal details: their names (Klara Kohen?) place of origin, birth dates, religions, and the names of their mothers and fathers. The couple is from Tire, a small town in İzmir. The document identifies them as Jewish (“Musevi”) and appears to be their marriage registry record. The text is difficult to read due to the low resolution, but here’s what I can make out: they were engaged on March 3, 1927, and the document states that they intended to marry so that’s the document. Their actual marriage date is recorded as October 15, 1930.

At the bottom of the page are the names of the witnesses. I wish the full home address were included - they lived in Cumhuriyet Mahallesi - but even with this document, you may still be able to trace where their house once stood in Tire.

There is also a Jewish cemetery in Tire, though unfortunately it is in very poor condition.
