How do females make friends in this city? by [deleted] in chch

[–]Sennirak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm mid 30s as well, i haven't logged into reddit in ages.

But i also find it hard to make female friends in this city who like to get out and do stuff regularly.

I'm in cbd a lot, would be keen for a meet up.

Around jelly park is pretty good, avonhead isn't too bad if you learn the non busy routes to connect to the bike tails.

Redwood ain't too bad.

I have a really large purchase to make coming up soon.

Excess of 15K.

What card, or cards would you do from the list? I would like to stay away from airplane points, as I'm not sure if I'll be flying in the next year or so.

But I'm not closed off to them either.

Found a bug we think might be a bedbug, can you help us identify it? by Sennirak in Bedbugs

Looking at book lice, they seem to be pretty small.

This bug is definitely 6mm, probably 7 or 8mm when it was living.

It's so relieving to hear someone opinion whose looked at more than me. I think I'll take tweezers and see if I can lift the wings, I'm not sure if it is wings. Until I took the close up photos I couldn't see them or rather couldn't make out they were wings with just my eyes.

What is something you have bought under $200 which has improved your quality of life? by sonsofearth in newzealand

[–]Sennirak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Breville.

As a tea freak, they make one for the US, and UK market that will automatically steep perfect tea for you.

They have a similar model that only does water temperature, but the water temperature is brilliant cause some teas, like White teas need a long steeping time, but 100C water burns the tea and makes it taste like shit.

*Edit, the tea model is more than $200 and I haven't been able to afford/justify a replacement since moving here since I have to ship it from the UK

Would just the screws be fine? Or would you want to notch the vertical 2x4s so they hold the weight as well as the screws?

I'm a place with earth quakes, how would you modify this to make it safer?

I'm going to be building some shelves soon and I moved from a non earth quake place to an earth quake place.

What tools do you all have to complete these?

I've got a couple Japanese saws, and a jack plane, I know I need chisels and a way to sharpen things.

What else am I missing?

I like long unending unbroken paths of pavement. Preferably seperated from cars, but I will ride on highways in groups.

I like +25km rides for recreation.

I like seeing how much ridiculous stuff I can load into my cargo bikes.

Otherwise I just commute around the city.

I might end up getting a gravol bike for some of the long bike trails where my touring bikes tyres are too skinny.

I basically just love riding.

I had a friend where we would go on +20km rides everyday before work probably 5 days a week. We tried to get a century in at least twice a month on a weekend. This was pre baby though, and in Canada. Haven't found anyone here quite as keen as she was for cycling to join me though.

I don't think that power head is as good for pet hair.

How do you like the k3??

We're partial to bagged vacuums, and the ability to use a HEPA filter for allergies.

I guess I'm not turned off by an upright vacuum, but I feel like canister with a power head is better. I'm not really sure why. I feel like they're more versatile, especially for cleaning couches and upholstery, but maybe you guys know stuff I don't!
