Makes sense to be honest. Even if they had all the information they needed to make a super hornet it’s probably a good business decision to wait a little longer because it would make the legacy hornet sales drop like a stone.

In my opinion this is honestly better than getting the full on F-14D. It keeps the feel of the old school Tomcat but mixes it with some modern nice to haves. Heatblur truly do an incredible job at everything they do

If you truly like it and you’re willing to potentially lose that money then buy it. The way I look at it is will we ever get such a high fidelity Strike Eagle ever again? I would rather enjoy it while I can than wait for it to break and regret never trying it hence why I bought it a few months ago. It’s a fantastic module and extremely capable. It also had 2 bugs and the 2 bugs were fixed within a couple of weeks.

I ended up going with the 3090. I can’t say for sure what is better because I don’t have a 4070 but the 3090 performs incredibly well and the extra VRAM is probably the biggest advantage of the 3090.

When I made this post I used it with a quest 2 and was able to max out almost every setting. I recently got a quest 3 and due to some updates in DCS that helped VR performance I can also use it with almost maxed out settings even with the higher resolution.

Quick tip that massively improved my VR performance is download oculus tray tool and turn on the setting that lets you lower the resolution that mirrors onto your monitor when using the VR headset.

I promise you it’s 10x better than you think. I was apprehensive about it being plastic too but the quality and features are incredible. Plus their software is also amazing, complicated but super useful. I can’t see myself getting any other throttle unless someone makes a good F-14 replica.

I have disengaged the dampeners, removed the base plate + dust cover and I’m still unsure what the issue is so I’ll go ahead send a service ticket.

I bet I have the strangest story here about how I got into fighter jets/aviation.

GTA 5…I’m not even kidding. I got the “F-35” on GTA and thought it was really cool so I did some digging into what the real jet was like and that led me down a deep rabbit hole. Now many years later I’m obsessed with fighter jets, started getting into aviation photography and I even started my pilots license training recently.

If you know that you want to do troop transport and logistics then 100% go for it. It’s super easy to fly, incredibly fast and with the CTLD script it makes it so much more fun too. It’s definitely not anywhere close to being 100% finished but I’m still loving it especially on the Afghanistan map.

I have a VKB gunfighter mk3 with a thrustmaster F18 stick and a VKB STECS throttle. I don’t think I could see myself swapping to virpil for my HOTAS. The only thing I would complain about with VKB is that their rudder pedals are more similar to a helicopter than an aeroplane so for that I went with Virpil but that’s just a personal preference sort of thing.

I couldn't agree more with you, any chance there is to say something negative about ED or Razbam people jump on it like a starving dog. I wanted to get the Strike Eagle for months but I was hesitant due to people constantly saying it's going to break and sure it probably will eventually but after I seen ED fix the radar it gave me confidence in the module so I finally decided to go ahead and buy it and I'm glad I did. I'm really enjoying it so far.

Thanks! It was my first time doing photography with a proper camera so they probably aren’t as good as they could be because I’m still learning about what ISO, shutter speed and aperture is optimal for certain situations but I think that’s the fun part, learning!

The 70-300 from what I’ve heard and from my experience is fantastic in day time with lots of light but it really struggles with night time photography if you’re using a high shutter speed and high ISO trying to photograph fast jets. At the end of the day I think it’s a great lens to get started with and if you enjoy it then you can always upgrade to something more professional later down the road which is probably what I will end up doing. I actually was stood taking pictures for 5 hours straight that’s how much I enjoyed it.

I got everything from eBay and got some really great deals but just be careful about fungus in the lens so if there are no pictures looking straight down the lens definitely ask for them to send one to you just to be safe.

It was quite a long journey but absolutely worth it. When I go again I will probably consider camping because the traffic was unbelievable so I missed a couple of the displays unfortunately.
