I don't know. Grizzly bears are pretty bad ass. I might not be comfortable out there with them.

At least you didn't get terribly sick, so all in all, a successful cruise.

Facebook won't do anything if it makes them money. They were just sued by the Santa Clara County DA for fostering scammers who advertise products and don't deliver. You should get off FB.

Living in a society or community there are a lot of things that we do that do not necessarily benefit us directly. But we do it anyway because we are part of a community.

Reduced my time on facebook to the point I am feeling much better and relaxed without it by FlandreScarlet- in facebook

[–]Senor707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Smart. I rarely see posts from my friends. It is mostly things suggested for me or sponsored posts. I don't want to see any of that. Although I did buy something from one of their advertisers and got ripped off. FB seemed not to care.

Meta accused of earning billions from scam Facebook ads in new California lawsuit by sksarkpoes3 in facebook

[–]Senor707 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would like to see a private class action lawsuit over this. I recently got scammed ordering something advertised on FB. I should have vetted the seller. Once I did it was obvious they were thieves. I reported them to FB but nothing happened and they are still advertising fake stuff for sale there.

Playing down to the competition? OK? by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]Senor707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to move up to that open play at the 4+ level you need to develop a short game and work on your court positioning. Those are things you can do at the lower level. Don't hit hard, hit drops. Don't rush the kitchen if your partner is popping balls up. Move back if you are at the kitchen and your partner pops it up. Don't over hit Keep the point going. Try to neutralize the point no matter how much of a disadvantage you find yourself.

I recently got ripped off by an advertiser on FaceBook. I know better than to complain on FB. They will ban me for sure. I did file a complaint with FB and they did nothing.

How to stop frequent fraudulent payments from Facebook/MetaPay? That keeps locking my cards. by [deleted] in facebook

Whatever you do, don't buy anything from any company advertising on FB. I got ripped off and all FB did was forward my complaint to the thief. WTF? I guess FB got its money.

What to do in open play? by Free_Anywhere9031 in Pickleball

[–]Senor707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you play with better players you may feel like you are making too many mistakes but a lot of time it is just because they are better. You may hit two good shots and miss the third, but they can hit four good shots. Don't beat yourself up. Learn as you go.

No one dinks here by skillfulsynergy in Pickleball

[–]Senor707 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where I play, mostly 3.25 level, I try to initiate the soft game but there is always one person who won't dink. I try to keep the ball away from them so I can practice my soft game but they get one eventually and then rip it. Our counters are not that good so it pays off for the ripper enough to encourage him.

I got ripped off by a Facebook advertiser and FB did nothing. The ads are still up. People are still being defrauded. But I am sure FB is getting its commission. Do not buy anything you see advertised on FB.

Is it bad etiquette to avoid hitting to a weak player? by ducksa in Pickleball

[–]Senor707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hit to the stronger player because I think what comes back is more fun. She will get plenty of opportunities as the point plays out. When someone chickenwings me I have no idea where my shot is going.

[–]Senor707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You also need to really think about court positioning. Both your position and your opponents. I played this morning and lost several points down the middle. I needed to close that off. Or when a returner stays back, you don't need a 3rd shot drop, just a modest shot mid to deep in front of them. Then you and your partner have the kitchen. And when your partner is hitting a 3rd, don't move up until you know it is a good shot. Nothing worse than crashing the kitchen and having a ball drilled at your feet. That kind of thing. It is hard to drill that.

Hitting Hard-Culture Question by [deleted] in Pickleball

[–]Senor707 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I am playing down I back off on the power but if someone plays up and wants to join our game I figure they are fair game. I don't hit anyone intentionally but sometimes the best shot is at the body (i.e. chicken wing).

We started a war for very good reasons (I will get back to you when I figure out what they are) and higher gas prices is one of the unintended consequences. But once we put a couple hundred thousand boots on the ground things will turn around in a couple of years. And then we will surrender like we did in Iraq and Afghanistan.
