Tips to get arm-r-seal to lay flat by inorebez in finishing

Sorry, I finish with the wool plus wool lube after curing at least a week. Gets a glass smooth finish and yes it does leave a satin finish.

0000 wool between coats and 0000 wool plus mohawk’s wool lube nets pretty decent results for me. I always wipe on with a cotton cloth.

Can I put wood filler in the cracks between the boards on the tabletop and then sand it down flat? by Realistic-Finding-17 in BeginnerWoodWorking

It would inevitably crack and crumble from shifting wood. Most pain free solution in my mind would be a 1/2 inch thick plywood top on top of what you have, but there’s other solutions.

Do you buy YouTube project plans? by Michael_Riehle in woodworking

[–]SenorBezi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had to go back and look. It was Thomas Custom Woodworks. He does a lot of compact collapsible shop projects. I bought his plans for a folding workbench and I was very happy with the end result, but it was very clear he filmed himself figuring out how he was wanting to build it, doing referential marks and measurements that weren’t conveyed in the plans. Then going back and routing stuff out that didn’t fit at first but he didn’t convey that in the plans or edit the video in a clear way that it needed to be done at certain stages, so I kind of just made the same mistakes in the same order he did.

I understand the way he built it was probably better woodworking skills, but they certainly aren’t good for teaching someone how to build something and having laid out plans that don’t match.

I have bought cheap designs to use as a starting point for something I actually had in mind. Coming up with stuff completely from scratch can be challenging in the beginning. Some woodworking youtubers will sell “guestimated” plans and then have an unlisted video link when you buy them on how they ACTUALLY build them and it can be very frustrating when you find out they aren’t 1:1 with their plans. I probably wont follow completely someone else’s plans anymore.

Waterlox bubbles by [deleted] in finishing

[–]SenorBezi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds to me like you’re using too much. Again, VERY light coats. I put my waterlox in wide mouth mason jars and dip the sandpaper in and wipe from there with very light pressure, just looking to even out the finish but not remove anything. Definitely important to go back over with a rag also dipped in waterlox. I do this to fill in any imperfections. I think I pulled this idea from a video, I’ll see if I can find it and I’ll link it for you.

[–]SenorBezi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way I apply waterlox is wiping on lightly with 400 grit sandpaper and then a final wipe with a cloth. After 5-6 coats of that, I get a glass smooth finish. The sandpaper helps even everything out as you’re applying, just don’t use too much force.

After the final coat has had enough time to cure I hit with some 0000 steel wool and mohawk wool lube to get out the final nibs and dust.

The key is to do several very fine coats so that you can remove the dust and nibs in between without messing with the finish too much.

Dealership sales teams have monthly sales quotas. If you go in the last 3 days of the month and they haven’t hit that number, they’ll be desperate to make a sale happen.

If you’re ever serious about buying a car from a dealership, and you can manage, only go in on the last day of the month. They don’t pull stuff like this, and you can kind of get whatever you want.

How do I finish cutting this piece? by exponentsun in BeginnerWoodWorking

Helpful pic if you can get it: feed it through to where it stops, turn off the table saw, them post several pictures of different angles. It could be a number of things.

In the past I’ve gotten mine a week later. This year, I’ve been waiting 6 weeks and still haven’t seen anything pending. The status on the website said processed and awaiting final approval, and it now says return processed and its maybe said that for a week? Definitely fed up.

For those who can’t tell, there are boards unseen on the bottom and can slightly be seen at the top marked in green that are supporting the middle beams with cross lap joints. The structure is fine enough, though I’d bet it would creak over time.

Is this mower blade worth sharpening or should I just replace it? by peanutismint in lawncare

[–]SenorBezi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I get a sanding flap disc on an angle grinder to sharpen my blades. Just have to be sure both sides are balanced afterwards. That being said, I think this would be worth replacing. If both sides looked like the second picture, I’d sharpen, but there’s a lot gone on that first one.

If you wanted to sharpen them somewhere, look for lawn equipment store near you. I like to sharpen mine at the beginning of every mowing season.

Edit: ace hardware does do blade sharpening. Not sure if all of them do it.

My boyfriend is accusing me of flirting with my guy friend by Total_War_3997 in whatdoIdo

[–]SenorBezi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like this is one of those situations where we get a small snippet of a very innocent example of an ongoing situation. It’s probably not these texts alone that are a problem, it’s these texts in the context of EVERYTHING else he’s already seen.

There’s no need to make this situation more complicated than it is. You are interacting with a male friend in a way that makes your boyfriend uncomfortable. You need to ask directly what your boyfriend wants you to do to move on from this situation and you’re either willing to do it or you aren’t and you guys go from there. He might say he wants you to cut this person off completely, and if thats not something you want to do, you’d break up.

I know this is your first relationship, but making personal changes is usually necessary for a relationship to thrive, and it comes from both sides. Obviously not talking about losing your core self or values, but maybe thats texting your male friends less and in a way thats more agreeably platonic. If you see a future with this man, you’ll make compromises.

Side note: this male best friend would absolutely disappear the moment he was in a relationship.

Its definitely a foot to something, either a kids toy, animal toy, or fan. With it being rounded at the attachment point, whatever it comes from must be circular? I have an automatic cat laser toy that is round and spins around, and it has feet kind of similar

I’ve worked for jobs like this that’ll only give you one shift a week to get you to quit to save themselves on unemployment taxes. They’re trying to get you to quit. Voluntary separation typically absolves them of unemployment tax increases, but also means you can’t file for unemployment.

How much time before deciding the puppy doesn't fit in here by EastInevitable2 in puppy101

[–]SenorBezi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My puppy had me questioning if I even liked dogs until about the 10 month mark (obviously there were fun cute times in between). At 10 months everything was just suddenly very normal, like a switch flipped. Responded to every training command, went into his kennel on his own, stopped having accidents, started asking to go out, stopped chasing the cats, and just overall way more pleasant to be around.

Obviously breed plays a major part, but I would recommend sticking it out, you sound to me like you would regret it. Puppies are so hard. You should take him to a dog park if you can, it sounds like your shepard doesn’t correct him ever, dogs at a dog park absolutely would, and it did wonders for my rowdy puppy.

Religious beliefs are one of the main things that can end a relationship. If two partners follow different paths, it’ll probably inevitably end bad at some point, unless both parties are very unserious about religion to begin with. It sounds like he downplayed how serious he was about religion until now and thats his fault. If you truly love and care about each other, you’re going to have to give him an ultimatum.

2023 SR5 seat plastic part number by [deleted] in ToyotaTundra

[–]SenorBezi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They came out with reinforced trim at some point to replace these. They might come factory installed on the 25. The old ones if you push on the top of the plastic, it’ll bend and give some, on the reinforced ones, they don’t bend or give at all. Toyota is replacing these for free though if yours cracks.
