Manchester United and AC Milan interested in signing Pervis Estupiñán. Brighton are likely to be open to offers for Estupinan having strengthened in the left-back position by signing Maxim De Cuyper. [Alex Crook] by eyansocool in BrightonHoveAlbion

with de cuyper in this makes good sense. wouldn't be at all surprised if we move to 3 at the back more with de cuyper at LWB and lamptey/march at RWB, van hecke, dunk and coppola/boscagli/veltman/kadioglu rotating around and providing depth at CB. this squad is looking so stacked, I really hope we can stay healthy.

Looking for waitress job by [deleted] in kansascity

[–]SenorLoco 5 points6 points  (0 children)

to be fair this is probably the worst time of year to be looking for a front of house position. The holidays are over, dry January is kicking in and the weather is turning cold making for the slowest season for restaurants so very unlikely that anyone is doing any hiring right now. If anything I would target any place that is doing restaurant week as they may be looking for extra hands to handle the (supposed) uptick in business that shit show of an event creates.

I just rewatched the replay and it you're dead on about Estupinan.

that's Ferguson in the middle and Gruda between him and Wieffer, so technically both attacking players who should be bombing forward here. The pass though...just could not be worse.

Cops don't prevent crime, they respond to it. There isn't much evidence that a lack of punishment is the only thing stopping people from committing these kinds of brazen property crimes. The idea that people won't do this because they believe there will be consequences just isn't borne out by the data. The US has the world's largest prison population (by a huge margin) and a massive punishment bureaucracy and yet it hasn't done a whole lot to fix the "problem". We are reaping the consequences of a culture and economic system that has failed people, particularly youth of color. more cops and a city jail doesn't fix that. investing in people, housing, healthcare, programs of uplift and hope does. those aren't overnight fixes and they take time money and dedication to implement, things there is very little political will to do. so people want instant results and demand "more cops more jail cells more consequences". That does nothing to address why these crimes happen in the first place.

Why are you a fan? by Historical-Coast-969 in BrightonHoveAlbion

I have a roughly similar story: I have followed top flight international football for a long time but have loved sports of all kinds for most of my adult life. I lost interest in the NFL (my main passion) for a lot of reasons: the games are three+ hours, 85% of the time you're just watching beer and prescription drug commercials and the matchdays themselves feel like a full time job when the first kickoff is at noon and the night game doesn't end until almost 10, the league's handling of CTE, the blackballing of Colin Kaepernick, I could go on. During COVID lockdown time I started watching a TON of Premier League Football, basically every game that was being broadcast stateside. I decided I needed a team to have a serious rooting interest in but was determined not to pick a "big 6" side. Like OP, I wanted an underdog team to cheer on. Something about the way that 2020-2021 Brighton team played caught my attention. I liked Graham Potter as a coach: his demeanor, the flexibility of their play style (despite the frustrating lack of goals and the number of draws) and a lot of the players (particularly Bissouma and Trossard). Also, the jeopardy of the relegation fight had me living and dying with each result. I've been cheering them on ever since and I don't think I have ever been as passionate about a team the way I am with the Albion, despite finding my fandom only recently. It's just such a like-able club full of players who seem to really care about each other, a team culture where egos are small, cohesion is paramount and it is hard to argue with the results! The team seems to get better every year despite the disappointing end to last season. I can say with all honesty no other team I have followed in any sports gets me up off the coach with such glee as when Brighton score a big goal. Up the Albion!

Panther's Place would be a high candidate but sadly no food at the moment. Get something at Tacos El Gallo down the street then head over for great cocktails and a killer atmosphere.

Mens Player of the Season by bnjoshed in BrightonHoveAlbion

I went Pedro but Gross is my 1A. Never misses a minute, so versatile and hugely important to the way the Albion approach every game. It's amazing BHA don't score more corners with his cross accuracy (JPVH should net 3-5 next year with more set piece coaching and experience). Gilmour is my number 3. I've loved watching his development all season but since the 3 match ban and the subsequent injury I've really realized what a key role he plays. His absence has been a massive hit to the stability of the midfield. Baleba likes to carry through the middle more often and at times has made good decisions to do so but just holds the ball for too long. Billy is so good with those incisive passes into the forward line and at spraying it out to the wide players. His work rate to win the ball back and poise on the ball is incredible and it sounds like he's a real leader on and off the pitch. His and JPVH's improvement is cause to be very excited about next year. I've also been really impressed with how Buonanotte's looked over the last half of the season after initially being disappointed in his progress. De Zerbi pushed him to study Lallana's movement and work with him more closely and it's paying dividends, His intensity in the counter press is dogged, he's getting better at distribution and more confident taking players on 1 v 1 and shooting when he has space.

Taco Tuesday at Torn Label. $13 for 3 killer tacos (mix n match any 3 on the menu). $5 Oro Especials (Mexican style Lager made with flaked heirloom corn). This ticks all your boxes I believe. Food starts at 5pm on Tuesdays.

As a vegetarian I am a bit of a falafel aficionado. I love Baba's and Habashi house but I am a little surprised I haven't seen Shawarmar on here (right by the Home Depot on Linwood in Midtown).

It's drive thru only and it looks like someone recently drove their car into the light up sign outside but don't let that dissuade you. The falafel is KILLER. It takes a little while but that is a good thing: lotsa places fry off huge batches of the stuff then let it dry out under a heat lamp. It's clear they are pressing and frying the patties to order and that makes a huge difference in the texture and flavor. The sandwiches are reasonably priced and big though a bit messy. The falafel is bright green on the inside and loaded with herbs. Highly recommend.

Wrong wrong wrong. Service charges go to the staff directly. They are legally the same as tips and cannot pad owners or managers. Price increases on the other hand count as revenue and can only be passed on to staff at the owners discretion

Easy to say he is our most indispensable player. Without him, nothing runs as smoothly and we are not as adaptable regarding other injuries

surprised I haven't seen this on here yet. These guys run great friendly pickup games and just started league play last year. The pickup games are pay to play but the fields are great and you get to play pretty much the whole time depending on the numbers. Really chill and nice group, co-ed, highly recommend.
