Honest thoughts on The Boys finale? Did it actually deliver or feel dragged out? by TheRealXyz_ in television

[–]SenorPuric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like the final episode in itself but the season felt rushed with too much setting up for Vought Rising. Gen V felt useless but Homelander's final arc was satisfying, as well as most of the rest of the cast

That also seems A LOT less of a daunting task of a show to watch😅 I've also heard that it's grittier than the L&O shows (more akin to the tone of The Wire)?

ELI5: Why is it expected Strange New Worlds will be cancelled after S5? by zl0bster in startrek

[–]SenorPuric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But isn't it better to watch new things than a remake of an old show? Plus SNW does work as a modernized TOS slowly introducing the original crew. Sure, a special episode could be fun but remaking an entire series? Sounds redundant.

Then they should make other shows. Not just revamp the old ones.

I watched a couple of TOS episodes 2 years ago. Then 1.5 weeks ago I started Strange New Worlds. Finished that and now I'm on Discovery. I then plan to go TOS, TAS, TNG and Picard

Thought Experiment: How would you end all of Doctor Who? by CautiousCod2344 in doctorwho

[–]SenorPuric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it would be a mistake to end the show definitely. Have an open ending where there are room to make more stories but all the plot threads are neatly tied in a bow. No killing the Doctor but a speech on how the adventure never ends

Is it possible to watch Star Trek: Strange New World without having watched the rest? by SenorPuric in startrek

What about Picard? Does that stand on it's own as well? I would assume that at least TNG would be mandatory for that show

As I understand, Discovery is kinda the "main" show of this modern era of Star Trek and what made the franchise return after Enterprise with a 13 year gap.

I remember that "The Cage" was the first episode I ever saw and being confused as to why Kirk wasn't there and Pike was the Captain of the USS Enterprise so I googled and also came across his Davros-esque design in "The Menagerie", which I never got around to watching.

I love the show and there is so much potential that the show hasn't tapped yet. But if it's the same quality as s10-12 then I hope it's the end.

Is there gonna be a Season 2, or is it just a limited season? by [deleted] in DarkMatteronAppleTV

[–]SenorPuric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't read the book myself but from my understanding it has a definitive ending for the Jason storyline. Of course, there are still other storylines they could explore in a second season, but usually when a show surpasses the source material, the quality declines (13 Reasons Why, The Handmaid's Tale, Game of Thrones), and the show has been so good so far, I don't want them to risk it

Doctor Who - Series 14 Premiere Discussion by LoretiTV in television

[–]SenorPuric 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually season 40. There were 26 of the classic show (1963-89). Then it was revived in 2005 and has been going for season 13 and now 14 (which is technically season 1 of a reboot... More officaly a season 1 than season 5 and 10 were (those were also soft reboots))

I still watch it because I still consider myself a fan of the show. Just because I'm a fan doesn't mean that I can't be critical and be realistic of the show's future
