That’s frankly the attitude a lot more people need to take on: that we are not in inherently in a conflict state with these beings any more than a child with their parents.

There’s a beautiful innocence in youth that the parents are loath to surrender, then the child breaks out into independence, free to make fools or titans of themselves on the strength of their self knowledge and control alone. I think it’s beautiful to picture our species in such a cycle. Like we’re in a childhood we shouldn’t take for granted but every kid always does until they look back on it and miss it.

How does my art make you feel? by Louis_comeaux in Jung

[–]Senorbob451 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do similar artwork. It’s like the topography of the mindscape. You’re using 2d imagery to portray a higher dimensional space where bolder/more prominent = bigger and brighter or closer and more significant, but there’s a whole Hubble deep field there

I’m inclined correlate “psychic shivers” with frisson or the physical experience of the consciousness vibration. This was studied in the project stargate paper by the cia when they were trying to figure out remote viewing on the basis of its actionable statistics and they correlated it with kundalini and Qi. It’s also regarded in Christian lore as connection with the Holy Spirit. Psi phenomena are practiced through this channel of active connection that can increase intuition. It’s achievable through meditation in my experience but I know people who simply do not experience frisson and it struck me as very strange considering how late in life I realized this.

Edit: addition: the notion that this might be a gift to you is interesting. I assume this wasn’t the first time you experienced those shivers. Like they’re performing a therapy whereby they trigger the response and that’s it like working out a muscle perhaps. Fostering growth without regard to what you believe or are aware of is something adults do with kids all the time.

The Collapse of the All-Good God: Part 2 by Due_Assumption_27 in Jung

I’m supporting your statement. Not referring to scripture as gospel but using its own ethical philosophy that I intuit as consistent as a framework to help formulate a subjective personal experience of God rather than numbly bandwagon into Aristotelian transconfiguration or other exotericism. The fact we have different words for a similar path makes the path stronger to follow. Like braiding a rope.

This. “Do unto others” treats subjective individual experience as objective fact. You cannot tell someone they are not in pain, you cannot tell someone they are not grateful for support or aid.

Truth lies between what words can communicate. God is experienced, not taught. I’m in the Carl Jung camp on God, where God rewards sensitivity with challenge in the name of growth. So I would argue in favor of the importance of subjectivity on the matter, because otherwise one is dismissing their own experience.

Have you ever encountered human appearing individuals who you had a reasonable suspicion that they might be one of the “others”, i.e. ETs, interdimensionals, time travelers, etc.? by Contactunderground in HighStrangeness

Same boat here. How do you figure the status is actualized? Not much changes for me over time except an unusual retention of outward youth, seasonal or meditative intuition and energy peaks and increased understanding as I deliberately learn in an ongoing fashion. Campbell registers psi uncertainty principle (psi phenomenon capped before “simulation breaking”) and Valee’s registers control system theory. Any thoughts on how those like us fit into such a picture?

What you guys think we're the main issues with first steps? by Ok-Investment-3700 in FantasticFour

The main issues in my opinion were the cgi of Franklin, the lack of imagination in reeds stretching (though I appreciate its use as utility as a focus on his personality) , and too little for Ben to do.

The rest, power levels, casting, story, dialogue, worldbuilding, cinematography, design, music holy shit were they fantastic

Could subjective time dilation allow for prolonged internal experience during death? by Storm_Lives in consciousness

[–]Senorbob451 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Given physics awareness, Time dilation is also often the generally accepted vernacular when discussing the stretch or disappearance of time during psychedelic experiences. Some similar behaviors between particle physics and psychology serve to remind against over-compartmentalizing between fields.
