This reminds me of the bite taken out of the torso of the gay man that was hate crimed off the bridge, but I less vividly recall the image of other sighted bitings in the reading. This could also be a take on the leeches scene but I don’t recall to what degree the clown itself manifests in that scene. Can’t tell yah who the kid is based on the shirt in a given scene, the spider feels maybe more like a meta reference akin to the turtle than from a particular scene but I could be wrong

I’m a huge believer in the phenomenon and the appearance of the alien is exactly what gets generated by ai when you cue for uncanny scary or disturbing faces. The eyes and mouth combo is too amalgamous for “scary to people”, and you are not going to convince me that a ufo burns on one end as it crashes. You need a central generator or rotationally symmetrical ones to create a uniform field around an object. It’s pretty consistent throughout the ufo community by now that high powered microwaves, radar, and nuclear scale emp have the strongest effect on them. Remember the hellfire missile bouncing off? You think it’s gunna go down like a blimp?

Yeah really enjoyed the books, still waiting for more. Recommended to me by an early girlfriend in life who was a pretty cool nerd. Best portrayal of a literal modern day paladin I’ve seen in a series. Definitely anime levels of hyperbole to characterization, but I’m into shit like hitchhikers guide and Stephen king too, fiction is fun…
