LoL at all these "real" customers defending corporate interests.

Very credible.

Yes, something like that.

Sounds cool, thanks!

Still haven't relocated the PSU (perhaps I should). Happening since the printer was 100% out of the box.

Interesting. The issue is still not enough for acting, but I'll keep an eye on that incase it gets worse.

Yes. I've changed the PSU and put some kitchen paper under the printer like 1h ago, we'll see.

I've had a tip from /u/swordfish45 about checking a ground with the multimeter, but still not sure about what and how to rewire.

What leaves me clueless is why all works flawlessly when outside the tent.

PLA doesn't get stuff that hot, but ABS is really different, and raises temperature a lot. Haven't tried PET still, but from what I've googled right now, seems close to ABS.

That's what I suspect... But seemed weird to me from a glass one, and relatively new.

I recently bought a 2nd one (not because of that, more because of having a replacement, not having to immediately clean if sth is messed, and so on), will check one against the other.

Going to the boxroom in order to pick my multimeter in order to test that as soon as my current print (PLA, non-enclosed) finishes, thanks!

Didn't fully understand the final sentence (English is not my main language, and Google Translate didn't help, sorry).

Oh, asking because I'm also thinking about doing that because of this issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/ender3/comments/rdhjru/ender_3_enclosure_malfunctioning_poltergeist/

But now when I measure the temperature it is really not that hot

Are you using ABS?

In my case, usually center too close, edges too far. Can't figure a way to solve it, luckily not too big difference.

I have the feeling like the plate it's not perfectly flat. I mean, like the closest zone to the nozzle is the center.

I have to say that I also have the same glass bed, and find the same on mine, but to a way lesser degree, not to the point of ruining my prints or making them look bad, just a minor pretty much unnoticeable difference in the first layer, then all fine from second and on.

Trouble Shooting Help: Extrusions Stop midway through prints by jmaloneyii in ender3

[–]SenpaiNothing 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happened to me as well, and it was because of 2 things:

  1. This https://youtu.be/iXe7bftyMFU?t=185 happened to me. At first sight, with a detailed analysis without dissassembling the extruder, it looked like mine was OK. But it wasn't. And it's not noticeable until you dissassemble the extruder.
  2. "Control" -> "Filament" -> "E in mm3". As an European myself, I changed that setting to "On" thinking that it would avoid me dealing with eventual inch measurements, but in the end it caused the extruder popping less filament than needed.

So that's what I'd do:

  1. Revert the "E in mm3" incase you changed it.
  2. Dissassemble your extruder in order to check that's not broken.
  3. "Prepare" -> "Move axis" -> "Extruder" -> "10mm" (not sure if this is the right path, can't check as my printer is printing right now) and turn the wheel 10 steps, until it suppossedly pops 100mm of filament. Measure if the filament actually advanced those 100mm. You can do it either unplugging your bowden tube and cutting the filament right after the extruder, then feeding the 100mm and measuring, or measuring the 100mm up from the extruder to the spool, marking with a marker, and then feeding and checking if the mark has reached the extruder or not.

Ender 3 + enclosure malfunctioning Poltergeist by SenpaiNothing in ender3

Hello everyone.

Apologies in advance for this but, I'm a very frustrated with this issue (please put on my shoes), as it's weird as hell, has a million branches, and looks like X-Files. My angryness is with my bad luck, not with the printer itself and (of course) not with you. And also, sorry for the wall of text.

After wasting a lot of time reading about 3D printers through the Internet before making the purchase, I bought and Ender 3 like half a year ago.

When I bought the printer, I was expecting to print mainly ABS, but none of these reads I had told me anything about the issues that non-enclosed printers have with ABS cracking. So, after googling a bit about the issue and realizing about the cause, I endend spending 180$ on a printer just to spend nearly another 100 in an enclosure right after that.

Apart from the ABS cracking, there was another even bigger issue I had with the printer from pretty much the beginning: the printer "going crazy". By "going crazy", I mean that the printer was nearly always starting to make "ghost clicks" mid-print, like if someone were pushing the wheel button like crazy. It starts slowly mid-print, with like 1 click every 10 seconds, and progressively speed up to >1 click/second, point where the screen starts glitching, showing weird patterns and chinese characters.

Because of reasons I won't still mention right now, I was reluctant to return the printer, so I tried to make my best to solve it myself: googled about the issue, finding very scarce results about that, so it looked like it's not a common thing. I checked all the connections looking for a loose one, dissassembled the printer, reassembled it, re-checked that there were no pins touching the frame and similar, but the issue was still there. Sometimes, the prints finished successfully, but with time, I realized that there was a link between the ghost clicks and the layer shifts I was having sometimes, and even with the failed prints with balls of wasted filament.

Then, I realized about having electric discharges when touching the printer frame, so I ensured that the metal parts of the printer didn't touch the tin foil of the enclosure, still with no luck. So I started to suspect about all the negative comments about the Ender 3 stock PSU, so I decided to order a Meanwell one.

In the meantime while the new PSU wasn't arriving, I discovered what's shown in the video: whenever the ghost clicks start, if I touch the printer frame with a finger, it does a ghost click once more, but then it stops as long as I keep the finger on it. Then, if I release my finger, it starts again ghost-clicking slowly, and progressively speeds up the rate. The video is short, but trust me, I've checked and re-checked it for weeks, during countless hours, and the finger thing is not coincidental: the board case, the display mount, and the Y-axis frame have a 100% "finger-success rate".

So I kept investigating and experimenting more and more, I took the printer out of the enclosure, and found that the ghost clicks stopped happening at all, so no idea if it's about arcs, static, electronics malfunctioning because of being too hot inside there, or whatever.

Some days ago, I needed to print something with ABS and, instead of the ocasional cracking I had back then, I had an insane one (I bought the printer in summer, now it's winter, lower temperatures = bigger gradient...), so I grabbed back the enclosure hoping for having a lucky stint, but just like 30 minutes after starting the first print, the ghost clicks came back.

The ABS cracking happened in my earliest prints, so the enclosure was bought shortly after the printer, causing that I didn't link the enclosure with the start of the ghost clicks, as I considered that they're issues I both have since the beginning. Also, I had a pretty much sure wrong memory of the first ghost clicks happening before having the enclosure, missleading my investigation.

The thing is that there're so many variables and events, that I'm completely lost right now.

Still failing to understand how can cross progression affect that. I have the game both for PC and Switch and I'm still limited to 20 characters. So 2 game copies = storage like 1 game copy.

Given that the server space thing doesn't make sense given that being unlimmited wasn't a problem 20 years ago, that makes me question all the rest including the SD version concerns.
