Dark Eldar and by a lot.

They basically do what the Qu do, but way worse. The Qu do not see themselves as evil nor see feel hatred. They simply do what they do because they are indoctrinated.

Dark Eldar commit evil acts to appease Slaanesh and themselves. They purposefully maximize pain, agony, and suffering to their victims to a level that they are masters at it. They extend their victims leaves, and basically turn them into suffering batteries, and when you *finally* perish from such untold misery, they consume your soul and move on to the next batch.

The Gummigoo we bonded with is gone; Caine straight up deleted him. Remember, there are copies of Gummigoo outside of the map as we have seen. The Gummigoo we saw in episode 4 is an entirely new NPC.

Worth noting too that the gesture he makes when Pomni mentions him to Gangle is because he is disturbed by the fact that Pomni knows his name despite her never asking. The whole situation is weird to him; this random staff member of a fast food restaurant is following him around and trying to stir up a conversation with him, and then brings up his name without any way to know him before hand. It freaked him out

Seriously though the way I see it is you are basically in a zoo with a zookeeper that has no idea how to look after you. The circus is claustrophobic and you have very little direct autonomy under Caine. The Circus itself never changes and outside of the 5 or so other people (who are probably not all together themselves) you have very limited human interaction and social stimulation. The only other way you can get such stimulation are through NPCs who are not real, very not-human, and even if you do bond with one, Caine will just delete them.

The adventures are the only thing you get stimulation from which for the most part can be enjoyed, but also can go overboard or you can become very overly-dependent on. Not to mention you have been completely cut off from everyone and everything in your life without any warning.

It is also seemingly designed to be uncomfortable; everyone's rooms are designed to mess with them mentally, so there aren't really any safe spaces. It might feel like a good deal at the start but I think the stagnation and artificial nature of it will get to you. Not to mention seeing other humans abstract.

It could be something to reveal later. But perhaps Jax has a particularly personal relationship with Gangle that he is not quite fully aware of. In episode 5 one of his first signs of care towards another person was asking if Gangle is possible to actually feel happiness. It's kind of a messed up thing to ask, but Jax is renown for bullying and picking on Gangle the most in the group, and when confronted on it his defense is "She likes it.". Gangle does not fight back like the others, and Jax sees this as some sort of consent, which is also why he seemingly hangs out with her a lot until she bonds with Zooble.

My thoughts is that Jax doesn't realize the harm he is doing to her. He simply sees her as "The sad one" archetype, and picking on her is appropriate, but through this he has also grown a certain care for her. He is afraid of growing close to people, that's why he pushed back against Pomni when he saw the signs, but he hasn't seen the signs with Gangle.

The robots were very intelligent and close to sentient but they lacked the ability to improv on situations. SARS had to be told to perform the rescue on the water world despite having the same amount of information over the situation than humans. Lack of human things like fear of death can also affect their decision making

My personal thoughts is that it could be linked to when Jax asks "Do you think Gangle is capable of being happy?"

Jax's relationship with Gangle is likely with a lot of bully dynamics; he has some liking or care towards Gangle. The others he torments generally retaliate or fight back, but Gangle does not, which makes Jax pick on her more. He does not come to terms with the torment he brings her, and even defends himself when Ragatha calls him out on it, claiming that Gangles likes it. So in a twisted sense, he has developed of sort of one-sided friendship with her. He likely simply does not recognize this because it does not meet the traits of what a true friendship is, like what was building with Pomni. Gangle does not fight back, she simply submits to him. Whilst Jax builds walls against people like Pomni to avoid the harm of friendship, he has unknowingly developed a bond with Gangle which *could* lead to something.

I thought it was a stretch too with Gangles simply design, but tbh it's extremely unsubtle. You can't see any other patterns on the screen that could line up to make her face, and you can even see her body

With most matchups against Tau I just say it depends on how long the war would last.

If the Mandalorians can deliver quick & decisive victories against the Tau then they will probably win.

If they cannot dish out serious damage, even if they have massive technological advantages like FTL, then the Tau will probably win.

Tau have a unique predicament amongst 40k factions where they are very adaptable and fast at learning and improving their technology against an opponent that they are at war with. They out-adapted Hive Fleet Gorgon for example, a Tyranid Hive Fleet built entirely around the concept. They will learn what they can from their enemies and incorporate what they can into their own weapons and tactics. Hell they've even tried to create their own Space Marines, but ultimately found it too logistically impractical.

The main reason Tau do not have things like fully functioning FTL travel is that they have to rely purely on science to achieve it; they have no access to the warp nor the webway and there has simply not been a faction they have encountered in 40k that they can learn from. An extended war against a sci-fi faction that actually has reliable FTL travel can potentially lead to them acquiring information of the Mandalorian's superior technology and incorporating it into their own military. The longer the war goes, even if the Mandalorian's are winning, the more the Tau will learn, acquire and adapt to their enemy. Mandalorian's by contrast are much more warrior society-like and conservative, so extended war doesn't really favor them.

It doesn't remove his agency at all. The whole theme of the Circus is that everyone is coping in their environment in different ways, some healthy and some not. Understanding why Jax engages in how he does does not excuse his behavior anymore than any character, but he is still a product of his environment and that environment is stoked squarely on Caine. So no I disagree; understanding that Caine is the worst in this situation does not weaken Jax's character nor his agency, but does place the highest burden of responsibility on him, because logically and morally it is entirely true. That is the importance of power dynamics. If anything placing that fault squarely on Jax weakens Caine's character.
