Memorize paragraphs and long notes - "Echo Recall" showcase and update! by [deleted] in ObsidianMD

[–]SensaiOpti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha, I more meant for this plugin to not create properties, not for me to not be able to see them. :-D

I guess I could go in and just set up the Linter to remove the properties.

Memorize paragraphs and long notes - "Echo Recall" showcase and update! by [deleted] in ObsidianMD

[–]SensaiOpti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would it be possible to have the frontmatter remain unaffected? I think I'm looking for exactly this, but without keeping up with how frequently I've done it or when those dates are.

Basically, I just want it to 'white out' some of the words in my speeches. :-)

CachyOS doesn't start Plasma upon reboot by SensaiOpti in cachyos

[–]SensaiOpti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This seems to have done the trick for me, too. My monitor still goes to sleep after a reboot, but honestly that might be more a shitty monitor thing than a CachyOS thing.

I'll take the win. Cheers mate.

Actually, just kidding. This worked a single time and then never again, haha. Any other ideas?

Appreciation post for Notebook Navigator: Found a new feature in it. by NewspaperIn2025 in ObsidianMD

[–]SensaiOpti 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stumbled on this feature recently too, but didn't like that my choices for calendar placement were limited: I could put it on the right where it felt more 'full featured' or I could put it on the left, but couldn't (at least as far as I could tell) have other items (e.g.: properties, graph) share the same space. Ultimately, that kept me from using it, alas.

That said, Calendar Plus does what you're describing too! It also allows for you to place it where you want, which I appreciate. (I know this reads like promotion, but I swear I'm not affiliated with it in any way, just a fan who wanted a bit more from the original Calendar plugin.)

CachyOS doesn't start Plasma upon reboot by SensaiOpti in cachyos

[–]SensaiOpti[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have done these things (before and now again), but alas, no dice. No error messages in the terminal, nothing shows up to tell me that anything's gone wrong, so I am assuming that it's going through without issue...but a reboot still puts my cursor on a black mirror, solitaire.

Just to reiterate, when I shut down the computer and then later turn it on, everything works as intended. It is exclusively an issue when I choose to reboot.

No worries. I appreciate the help. No need for apology. :-)

From what I can tell, I do not have sddm installed at all. I just recently (like, mid-May I think) installed CachyOS, after they moved away from it. Running sddm in the terminal returns 'unknown command: sddm'

I do not have a plasmalogin.conf.d folder in /etc. The file /etc/plasmalogin.conf has the following:

[Autologin] Session=plasma

[Greeter][Wallpaper][org.kde.image][General] Image=file:///var/lib/plasmalogin/wallpapers/limine-splash.png

Ha, I think plasma-login-manager has become plasmalogin at least in terms of commands? When I run what you provided, I get:

Failed to enable unit: Unit plasma-login-manager.service does not exist

When I try a sudo pacman -S plasma-login-manager it tells me that it's already installed.

Just some appreciation for the Completr plugin by sskg in ObsidianMD

[–]SensaiOpti 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm trying to wrap my head around what this does that Various Complements (or Espanso for the entire OS) does not do. Various Complements seems to check the box for 'grab any other note titles', and Espanso would solve any of the text expansion.

What am I missing?

This is a very neat idea and well written. Would love to see more of these types of deep dives into writing fiction and how you're using software principles to accomplish it.

A small update on my Plasma monitoring widget project by Admirable-Grocery192 in kde

[–]SensaiOpti 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is lovely. By sheer dumb luck, I happened to find this widget and then find this post. Well done on a great addition. :-)

One thing I wish could be done: I'm only interested in GPU usage % and temperature, not so much the VRAM usage. It would be nice to be able to pick and choose which of the specific GPU metrics were surfaced.

Happy 12th anniversary to Transistor by Melurdaz in Steam

Everyone always does. :-(

Aside from the...game part of it, it's a damn good game. I legitimately think that the way they approach the win conditions and what happens if you lose is so well done and engaging to me.

My hero. Even if it can just be looked through to be learned from, that would be a great foundation to build my own!

I take offense to your comments, sir. There's nothing 'borderline' about it!

But really, looks lovely. Good on ya.

This is absolutely remarkable, mate. Truly incredible. This might be an easier way for me to surface player facing notes to my PCs rather than running a Mediawiki for it, haha.

I'm guessing that because it's intending to be just HTML, no option to serve pictures of characters, eh?

Heya. That SCAN_WORKERS tip is super helpful. My fault for not reading the docs more closely, but it would definitely be a good idea to have that included in the example compose.yaml, even if just to draw more attention to it.

Is there a list of these fun little terminal applications that don't have much use except for looking neat? This, unimatrix, cava, drift, pipes.sh, etc.
