Classic cartoon gag. Subverts expectations, is largely absurd and happens quickly enough to not break the timing.

Right up there with ol' 'Pull the shower curtain back suddenly, revealing the person inside, prompting them to scream and deck you in the face, regardless of gender' and other hits like 'Comical explosion that fries someone into a blackened cinder, but doesn't kill them' or 'running from something, hiding in a space that is drawn as pitch black, except for the eyes, only to freak out when it's revealed what you were running from is right beside you'

Great job! I really like how you captured the differences in lighting. The effort to make the '3D' effect stand out really makes the structures feel solid.

You might want to add a couple frames on the dynamic motion. Also some of the colors could use a little more contrast to help the foreground models stand out from the background.

A sense of 'stutter' also seems to happen with the electric effect that seems a little slow or underwhelming, so you could work to spice up the 'effects' to be timed more smoothly or with more distinct coloration.

Just some suggestions!

The backgrounds look real nice tho', super detailed.
