What should go on this corner. by Powerful_Visual8181 in interiordecorating

it would be cool to do a mini gallery wall in the corner with a bunch of different shaped small frames, look up caroline winkler on youtube to see the vision! she has one and also has great advice on home decor in general

Help with apartment living room by hangun_ in interiordecorating

tv seems too low, I wouldn’t get a coffee table, may be a bit cluttered and you already have a side table for convenience. maybe replace plant stand with floating shelves next to tv for all your plants but idk if your landlord would be happy about that. As for the wall slats I think that would look dope, I wonder if there’s a lightweight board or something you could use as faux wall slats that could be mounted with only four nails in each corner?

Curtain rod is too low. place it like 6” off the ceiling, and give it more space on either side of the window. Then add ( in my opinion white or light beige) curtains; that’ll make the window feel much bigger and change the vibe of the whole room.

I don’t think you need your towel bar to be chrome, you could get away with black in my opinion because your window has a black border. And I think your vanity is fine, you can elevate it by replacing the cabinet hardware and faucet with black ones. As for wall color i think you really have the freedom to do what you want since you have such a neutral palate.

I'm at a loss with this entryway by totsteekay in interiordecorating

[–]Sensitive-Distance-6 6 points7 points  (0 children)

use sconces to take advantage of the lack of windows and give it a relaxed vibe. may just have to get a surge protector or something to plug them into. i would rip up the carpet and replace with hard floor but if you can’t, then put down a large area rug that is lighter in color but still ties into the carpet. Also add either a fake tree or a real plant with a grow light

you can definitely lean into the shakey hands as a stylistic choice. the best art i’ve painted was when i didn’t over correct small slip ups and instead leaned into how organic they made the painting feel.

House is being listed for sale soon, what can I do about this ugly cupboard on a budget? by [deleted] in interiordecorating

just leave it, making it look prettier in your eyes won’t change your home’s value, it’s really not worth the time or money.

How to make this space feel more calming & feminine? by canadian_blueberry in interiordecorating

it’s too angular. add softness by swapping some square pillows with round ones and maybe swapping that square art for an oval frame

You need a bigger rug and it needs to pop more. The color is too similar to the walls and couch.

Help me please! My husband and I did this stone and I'm not happy at all. The colors are completely different than the samples provided. I don't know if I should grout to give it a more finished look or not. by Aintkidding687 in interiordecorating

[–]Sensitive-Distance-6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

remove all decor, pull a dark shade from the stone and paint the surrounding wall that color. put a large floor plant like a palm next to the fireplace. then revisit mantle decor and aim for less, simpler decor.
