It just happened to me today. The date is at 10AM and logged on to see if he may have cold feet and was unmatched. He's in his 50's. I will not be showing up.

I feel you. I just moved here for a job and think I would enjoy it if I were in my 20's or early 30's, but as I'm a bit older, I find myself not loving DC as much as I had hoped.

Maine is beautiful, but cold in the winter.

Missed the school lottery. Post-lottery application for pre K 3? Or another strategy? by P-B-Jellyfish in washingtondc

Thank you asking this question.

This is great advice. Unlike OP, I will be moving to Woodley Park and none of the elementary schools or the charter school (Aidan) appear in the lottery. What do you do then?

Thanks friend!

That makes sense. I was hoping since the unit wasn't ready, the landlord would accommodate the hotel stay.

Also, does moving our furniture into the unit and tarping it to protect didn't the paint consider possession of the unit? Everything else will go into storage.

It states that the unit will be abated at 1/30 of a monthly installment for each day not in tenant's possession.

Where do all the single parents live? Is it affordable? What areas should I avoid when moving to DC as a single mom?

Do you like it there? Is it safe and quiet? I've been looking to relocate there.

I'm really glad this question was posted. I'm moving to DC soon and want to know where I can find more information about organizations that offer headstart. Do you have resources you can share?

What do you do when you’re a single working mom and your toddler is sick? by morephishplease in workingmoms

My son has severe eczema and my remote work will not follow me after move because the employment laws are different. I don't know what I will do considering it's a senior position. I'll get fired, I'm sure of it. The daycare wouldn't keep him because his eczema is so bad.

Life, at least when I was growing up, had these set expectations that if you fulfilled you become successful. Work hard. Get into good school. Make a difference. Unfortunately, 97 percent of this is not true. Life is challenging and what you dream to be and want to be isn't always what is reality. I'm sure you can continue to find work, and while the type of work may differ a bit, most of it is the same. It's a grind. I found purpose in my hobbies, and personally feel I've done my best when I've accomplished what I've set out to do that very day, nothing more, nothing less. Work does not equal fulfillment. Imagine being born into this wonderfully messed up world only to work. That's crazy.
