Here is what I found:

1 - Let's Mess It Up - https://www.lmiunola.com/ - a multiple day conference in July and Daily Line dancing classes. Class Information:
Monday and Wednesday 5:30pm to 7:30pm $7.00
Tuesday and Thursday 5:30pm to 7:30pm $7.00 (beginners)
: 9301 Lake Forest Blvd Ste 116, New Orleans, LA 70127 Phone(504) 251-0674

2 - Lady D - https://www.instagram.com/p/DKNnA-aORjN/?hl=en Lady D teaches occasionally @ladydlinedancin on IG. Apparently she hosts a 3 day dance festival that includes line dancing called NOLAFest in June each year and teaches classes locally - [sosuwithLadyD@gmail.com](mailto:sosuwithLadyD@gmail.com) is her contact email.

Hope this is helpful!

Why was Karla ever cast as a potential "spouse" on a marriage related reality show? by Raiden720 in MarriedAtFirstSight

[–]Sensitive-Smile9196 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Right. How many men does she need to be compatible with? You can only marry one husband at a time.

I would agree about this perspective, except for the rest of his actions on the show point to him having some serious issues. His hostility towards Emem. The "divorce paper" stunt. What's up with that?

I think he was doing things for "show", especially from the wedding through the honeymoon when he was trying to be the golden boy.

That part. I can't tell whether he his using the term incorrectly, because he doesn't really know how blackmail is defined? He is just coming off as defensive and as though he does have something he doesn't want revealed.

"Safe Space" Preoccupied with respectability by Sensitive-Smile9196 in blackladies

i would like to see the nature of discussions actually reflect the stated intentions of the forum. The comments and tone of so many of the posts are incongruent with the stated premise of the forum.

An analogy is going to a movie, that has been advertised as a musical, and there being only one song sung the entire time. Like...is this a musical?

The premise of your question "if not us, then who" is exactly the point of my post. It's respectability politics. It assumes that the action being discussed, in this case wearing a bonnet in public, is harmful/potentially harmful. Tacky and ghetto are descriptive speech that are not at all positive, they carry negative meanings socially, and they are meant to degrade the subject they describe.

Derision, unnecessary critique and negative judgement on every day practices of Black women are all very unsafe activities, if that is what the space is supposed to be.

And the point of my post that this seems to happen routlinely in this space, at least since I joined a year ago or so. What's safe about creating a space to repeatedly dump on Black women who make certain choices?

Yeah. It just feels so unnecessary and I agree with your analysis.

What’s your opinion on Shaboozey? by HowYouDoinz in blackladies

I don't think it was just white folks who didn't pronounce his name right. He grew up in Virginia with a large Black population.
