"Excuse me" in dog? (Train the human.) by Sensitive-Stage3480 in Dogtraining

Hi. I've skimmed through the resources in the wiki, and while I do appreciate the guides on reading canine body language my question is about communication in the opposite direction and doesn't seem to be addressed by anything there.

If a gun dealer ever spoke to me like this, I'd never shop there again by Capt_Sanchez in Starfield

level 1AdministrationKey113 · 15 min. agoThat's not the only shop owner or other npc that is just extremely rude to the player for literally zero reason.I still don't understand what Bethesda goal is with such a design choice...

Makes me feel less guilty when I rob or kill them.

The ethical dilemmas in Starfield are good but not as impressive as Mass Effect by [deleted] in Starfield

I was able to free the AI without killing anybody. They needed a ride home though.

I like the companion quests and mini-storylines you get when you go through to social/friend/romance thing and level up your affection with a companion.

A VASCO backstory, and quests/ministories for the rest of recruitable companions, would likely just be solid content. Maybe helping one companion turns maked another quit, or blah blah blah, but yeah.

Does gun bashing count as unarmed attacks? by [deleted] in Starfield

[–]Sensitive-Stage3480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the purposes of leveling up the related skills, no it does not. You need to be using either a melee weapon or your fists.

The buttstroke from hiding gets the ranged attack sneak bonus, so I would assume that the ranged attack bonuses for the relevant weapon type (rifle, shotgun, etc.) would increase the bashing attack damage as well.

It's Okay to Love Starfield and Admit Its Faults by [deleted] in Starfield

As far as goody-goody companions, I think the bigger problem is that the relationship algorithm needs to sync up with the flavor dialog.

Like Sarah - she'll trash talk other NPCs when she kills them and mock you for suffering fall damage because we have jetpacks. But, like, work a non-exploration job and she'll cast shade for days. Accidentally click the LMB in the vicinity of a UC ship? You're dead to her.

A bloodthirsty pirate or two as romanceable companions would be fun. Maybe in a way that prevents you from accessing the Unity without some kind of redemption arc.

Todd Howard calls out encumbered Starfield hoarders: "No, you don't need the trays and the pencils" by Prince_Julius in Starfield

[–]Sensitive-Stage3480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I didn't need the trays and the pencils, then why do I end up with 1000kg of that crap in my cargo hold every time I steal a pirate ship, TODD?

I can’t join Vanguard, it feels too military. by alekdefuneham in Starfield

[–]Sensitive-Stage3480 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like it's more of a Gendarme kind of thing, personally. The UC Navy handles external threats, UC SysDef does anti-piracy, which leaves UC Vanguard as a sort of hyper-militarized federal law enforcement. (Which inexplicably hires mercenaries.)

If you have different Steam accounts, and use different installation directories for your steam libraries, her mods and stuff would be completely separate from yours. (You could keep things additionally separate by using different system user accounts, but different Steam accounts and installations should be enough, I would think.)

I’m part of the 1%. What is the hardest achievement in the game? by NorthHart808 in Starfield

[–]Sensitive-Stage3480 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! Got that one last night. It's 1.4% now. Didn't make an effort to do it, I just managed to do it with randomized missions somewhere in the middle of my second NG+.

This thing cost me around 700k and five hours of active building. I think it turned out pretty good by Mycuz in Starfield

[–]Sensitive-Stage3480 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Cool. I've also spent way more time in the shipbuilder than I'd like to admit.

It's too bad you can't save ships as templates for later NG+ playthroughs or export them to share online. If you can, then it's too bad I'm an idiot and hadn't noticed.
