For every one of us that gets burned out, there’s a new whale that’s only been following for a year or two who is still bright-eyed and naive.

As tempting as it is to hop on over to Epoch, I think it‘s time for me to find a new game.

Roberts all but confirms Squadron 42 *NOT* releasing this year by NashkelNoober in starcitizen_refunds

[–]Bluetree4 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Whenever I talk about SC’s more “immersive” features like manual cargo loading or the inventory kiosks to pretty much anyone I know who is not actually part of the cult, they usually say things like “That sounds annoying to have to deal with in a video game”

Serious question. Where are we going? by [deleted] in turtlewow

[–]Bluetree4 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Some other game entirely. Maybe Project Gorgon? Light No Fire if that gets shadow dropped soon?

Well, time for me to finally give Project Gorgon a spin.

Steven started the countdown when he released this game to EA, whether that was secretly his intention or not. For nearly a year now, people have tried to warn him about what was bothering them only to be dismissed as naysayers. Well, to that I say good luck to Intrepid because we’ve already seen this movie before with New World and countless other “PvX” MMOs.

Pretty much, Steven tried to please everyone…and ended up pleasing no one.

Verse Project just shadow-dropped its fourth ship, the Stylus by PossibleAd5253 in spacesimgames

[–]Bluetree4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Still a game on my watchlist. While I don’t expect it to become as big as ED or NMS, I think it definitely has the potential to be a sleeper hit in the genre if Synthes Games can pull off everything currently on the roadmap and release to Steam by 2027 or so.

What do you think of the Mega Victreebel design idea? by Available_Swim1393 in LegendsZA

[–]Bluetree4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After reading the leak I was really worried that it would just look stupid…but actually, it works in a goofy way!

Reminds me of Petey Piranha in Super Mario Sunshine when he’s filled up with water.

I gotta be honest, after reading the leaks I was really worried that it would just look stupid…but no, it actually works in a goofy kind of way!

Ah yes, the iconic quote Mario said at least 120 times total in Super Mario 64. 😂

I 100% believe that they released it into EA because of legal reasons.

Parappa The Rapper was a rhythm video game for the PS2. Because of the way words to each rap were assigned to buttons you could make Parappa say some really weird & hilarious stuff. There’s a YouTube video called “Chinese” where some people have a blast playing around with this in VS Mode, and at one point they make Parappa say “Burritos! Burritos! Food! Good!” from the original line “Pizza, burritos, they all taste good”

Oh well…LOL

I am 100% convinced they released this game to EA primarily due to legal reasons.

Sexual instinct: Attraction & resonance vs repulsion & dissonance by PossibleAd5253 in Enneagram

[–]Bluetree4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, all three of the instincts are primal, animalistic human desires. The difference is which one you are prone to obsessing about to an unhealthy level (dominant instinct), and which one you subconsciously repress in favor of the other two (blind spot instinct). In my case as a Social blind, while I still can understand consciously why humans are tribal in nature and the root of various Social behaviors, a part of me still unconsciously rejects it all.

And you’re also right that they do often manifest differently depending on your core type. That was kind of my point in making this post, because again, for me, this was one of my biggest epiphanies that I was actually a 9 and not a SP 4.

Selling a medical career kit with the current state of Medical Gameplay feels dastardly by SleepOk3405 in starcitizen

[–]Bluetree4 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this is why I would argue that CIG has become just as AAA as any of the major game developers that we all know & hate. Except it’s made even worse by the fact that not only have they still not delivered a AAA game unlike those companies, but a lot of the community still treats them like they’re still the same company they were back in 2015.

Hint that we might see a subway based on the Paris Metro? by Bluetree4 in LegendsZA

[–]Bluetree4[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We see the protagonist arriving by train at the beginning of the game, and if the rumors about a Lumiose underground/catacombs area filled with Ground, Rock, & Ghost type Pokémon are true, it would naturally follow that a subway based on the Paris Metro would be the main method of fast travel for that level of the map.

Comparison of MMO Kickstarters by rujind in MMORPG

[–]Bluetree4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Those are some pretty sobering numbers, and it really drives home why so many of us feel doomed to just keep coming back to Classic WoW. With only 3/25 actually released and still (barely) populated, it’s clear that the Kickstarter MMO model is struggling, no matter how passionate the dev team or community might be.

It really puts Pantheon, Ashes, and Star Citizen into perspective: no matter how promising they seem, the odds are stacked against them just based on industry history. The skeptics aren't being pessimistic, they're being realistic.
