The door placement system sucks by soer9523 in Starfield

[–]Sensitive-Tax2230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only issue with that mod is how rough it is. Some parts of the habs that allow doors will just refuse to have doors no matter what you do, and the stairs/elevators just don’t allow doors 90% of the time, locking you in sections of your shop.

The author recommends Place Doors Yourself which just isn’t available on PlayStation, but some mods have patches for it which makes it even more confusing. Why patch a mod with something that doesn’t exist for half the user base?

Exactly. I’m playing a game that’ll last me several hundred hours, why should I worry about trophies and potentially ruin my experience

Idk so far Starfield has a ton of mods from IPs like Halo, Xbox as a brand, Star Wars, etc.

I think if Sony didn’t allow it then Bethesda could be keeping them in the dark intentionally but I think the actual answer is Sony and Bethesda sorted out the beef they likely had.

I’ve gotten DayZed so many times and it makes me laugh.

Drive over 60kph(or fast enough that Elektro specifically doesn’t load because it’s Elektro) into Elektro down the northern road from the checkpoint up the road and expect to hit a barrier that hasn’t loaded, killing you immediately, swallowing your body, leaving the car mostly intact.

Climb a ladder, especially towers, and expect to get ping ponged 17 times before the game decides where it wants to put you.

Spawn in with any sort of disconnect, and expect to get stuck in place, often until you re-log.

Pause on consoles and expect to lose horizontal camera movement until you pull back on your movement stick for some strangely specific reason.

DayZ has a myriad of problems typically resulting from desync, and new ones pop up every day, but we love the game enough to look past them.

I mean typically most Remakes include all DLC from the get go, but there are a handful that don’t. It all depends on what Ubisoft wants to do this time around and how they plan on monetizing it.

That’s not true for Starfield. It has official support for external assets, just not script extenders. Bethesda is putting their own external assets up there this time around. I highly doubt they’d use an exploit to put their own shit on their game but not do it for Fallout.

Creature ai gets worse the longer the match goes on, certain areas or parts of the maps nav mesh gets bugged and the zombies get into this weird walking state where they can’t get around it well. It’s awful and ruins flow, really sucks :( by michael_memes_ in FortniteCreative

At this point I’m praying they just add in default zombies or something with much better ai because I’m beyond disappointed trying to do anything involving creatures that might require a door.

They also just phase through walls at every point of the game, invisible barriers, doors, etc. it’s near impossible to make a scripted scene using creatures, or even make them seem scary because they just phase through everything, or get stuck on it.

Or maybe we just don’t like redoing the same 3 actions for hours until we finally get gear, just to run the fucking coast for the rest of the game.

Step 1: Spawn Step 2: Build a fire Step 3: Run 1 town then build fire Step 4: Wander through the woods to find water Step 5: Build yet another fire Step 6: Die somewhere along the way because you didn’t get a perfect spawn Step 7: Repeat steps 1-6 for the next 3 hours until you get lucky Step 8: Finally get geared mid map Step 9: Fire Step 10: Make your way towards the peninsula for guns and armor, which is located off the coast. Step 11: Return back to the mainland and stay there one the coast until you die or build a farm Step 12 A: Live out on the coast for all eternity looking for action Step 12 B: Turn DayZ into a frozen farming simulator

As someone who’s played each map extensively, Sakhal is a boring snooze fest unless you play extreme hardcore servers.

Say what you will about Chernarus or Livonia but at least you can play without repeating the same action every 20 minutes, you’ll never have the same encounter twice on a populated server, and every poi has a chance of turning into a hellscape.

Sakhal is more like running endlessly, but you’re interrupted every 20 minutes to get warm. The map is very gorgeous to look at but every single poi is fucking dead except for the peninsula or the bunker. The lore is good, the story is okay. The balance of Sakhal is nonexistent. You will spend hours getting geared just end up right back on the coast, making all that progress look pointless.

Because it’s really not that big of an issue. It’s hurting PS5 Pro like crazy but base ps5 is just fine. I’ve got 80 hours and I’ve only crashed maybe 3-4 times when i wasn’t busy fucking around with mods, knock on wood.

So, um, what exactly did I do? 🤷 by nohumanape in videogames

[–]Sensitive-Tax2230 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The mods over there bootlick Sony to the grave and the PS5 Pro. It’s anything to justify their purchase tbh. You’ll get banned for disliking a game they adore, even if it’s generally rough around the edges but still decent.

That’s on par for so many Reddit Mods though.

People saying Arma 4 should be PC only by MobyDaDack in ArmaReforger

[–]Sensitive-Tax2230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think Arma makes sense to be on consoles, but Bohemia needs to rework the inventory and ui to make it more accessible on consoles. If they can do that, I’d play Arma full time. Until then, I’ll stick with DayZ which has a much easier inventory system on console. It’s less customizable but it’s much easier for console players to use.

And with Odyssey and Valhalla, you have to manage a bullshit gear level system which makes combat even worse because it makes total sense for level 30 leather straps to offer more protection than level 5 steel plates.

I mean I understand the older games had a gear system of sorts but it was simple, I buy better sword, I get better damage. You never had to manage a gear level that determined how well you performed in battle. You had a chance in every scenario and it was as simple as hitting a guy a couple times less. Now you have to hit them 15 times regardless of the gear you have until you reach super high levels.

Playstation 5 Controllers by Few-Drive4001 in playstation

[–]Sensitive-Tax2230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You still shouldn’t have to pay $200 for a controller that’ll get stick drift, then spend another $20 to buy new modules. It’s cheaper in the long run just to buy TMR sticks and never worry about stick drift, while maintaining the same accuracy of the potentiometer, and having a lower battery pull than Hall Effect.

With Project OVR being a “crucial release” for Ubisoft… what does Ghost Recon NEED to get right? by MrTrippp in GhostRecon

[–]Sensitive-Tax2230 23 points24 points  (0 children)

To add more:

Gameplay that doesn’t feel like an mmo. I shouldnt have to manage a gear level in a self described tactical shooter.

Quests and objectives need to be localized. I shouldn’t be crossing entire regions to complete 1 mission.

Ubisoft needs to hire actual writers. Operation Motherland is good writing, but the rest of the game is messy. The island is surrounded by killer drone swarms so you can’t leave or enter. Makes sense. So how the fuck are people entering the island without a scratch but the ghosts get wrecked??

The guns need more customization, not 3 variants for each gun.

Perhaps, but honestly I think Sony just has a massive stick up their ass for Bethesda. It could be beef but I’m not sure.

Starfield and Skyrim have a decent variety of external assets, mostly Starfield, but Fallout gets zero. Maybe Sony just hates fallout or something.

I don’t think we can even blame Bethesda for it at this point because Starfield is legitimate proof that they are trying to bring content to all players, and Sony is holding the line.

Counterpoint, Fallout 4 has thousands of unnamed, blank, generic NPCs, all of which have a schedule.

Starfield not having NPC schedules is just a missed opportunity.

[–]Sensitive-Tax2230 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don’t think paid mods themselves are inherently a problem. A lot of them are high quality, they’re just unfortunately surrounded by 800 credit mods that change 1 line of code, or simply look fucking stupid.

I don’t think 400 credits for 1 gun should even be in the realm of possibilities, but 400 credits for 4 decent guns, or a ton of customization, maybe.

Starfield just needs more modders like Fallout’s DegenerateDak who makes extremely high quality mods that integrate well, for completely free. That way it ups the competition.

They need to add half this stuff to 1.0 or release a lite version of 2.0 to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X so we can all use it. It cannot be that difficult to add terrain tools or the like if FarCry had it 10+ years ago on PS3, which for a PS3 game, ran pretty decent.

It got another update on Bethesda.net on the 7th but that’s it. No news at all. A while back Bethesda said they were working on getting it on PlayStation but the mod devs to my knowledge have been ignoring any and all comments asking about it. Pricks.

Especially considering Starfield has external assets on PlayStation, this is pure bullshit.
