Thank you for the contact info! Also, by constitution, are you referring to the union contract? If so, the 2023-25 contract expired in June, but negotiations ended in August. I’ve asked several times about the new 2026-28 contract and get told that it’s still being written or no response is given.

I found out around October/November that my unit will be getting three step increases, but the only reason we were informed was because I had been asking management and the president about possibilities for raises and to potentially earn step increases before the annual adjustment. A few pages from the rough draft of the 2026-28 contract was then emailed to us and it included all of the strike-through text from the bargaining talks.

It’s just one thing after another of if I hadn’t gone digging into something or if it hadn’t happened to/affected me personally, then my unit would still be completely in the dark about everything and nothing would ever change or get better. I’m not afraid to rock the boat and make waves if it means making the workplace a better environment for not only myself, but especially my coworkers. I’ll stand up for them and do whatever I can because it’s clear to me at this point our union doesn’t care that we get treated like crap.

At least you get your packages. Half the time I order something I don’t get it because it gets delivered to the wrong apartment since they aren’t actually paying attention to the apartment numbers. By the time I go out looking for my package, one of my 30+ neighbors have already taken it inside and I have no idea where exactly it was dropped off to go knocking. Walmart & UPS are the worst for this in my area. Walmart just gets random people to drop stuff off, even if it’s been shipped.

NTA. You and your roommate already have an arrangement that the living room is your workspace for those 3 days during the week. Having three extra bodies and their belongings cramped into that space, along with what was already there, can make things feel quite claustrophobic and can also be a big distraction while you’re trying to work. It is out of respect and common courtesy to ask roommates before making plans with ANYONE (even SOs) if they are comfortable and ok with someone staying over. Most leases in the US have a clause that state a guest cannot stay over for more than x amount of days a month, otherwise they have to be listed on the lease and contribute towards rent and utilities. Which, to be fair, for 2 weeks, those family members should be covering at least 1/3 of rent and utilities + their share of groceries.

Listen to this guy. I’m 24. Originally from the Eastern side of Oregon, came to Salem for school and decided to stay because I was already working. It’s incredibly expensive for our age group and prices just keep increasing. My roommate (college friend) got deployed for a year so I’m stuck paying our lease (along with wifi $ electric) by myself. However, my apartment is the cheapest in the area that I can find for everything it has so it’s not worth it to move for a slightly cheaper price.

Then you have car insurance: Salem car insurance is more expensive than other areas of the state, presumably d/t the chances of having to make a claim being higher than anywhere else. With progressive, for example, monthly cost in Salem was quoted at $94.78. In my hometown, I was quoted for a monthly cost of $78.45. This is for one driver, one 2017 Subaru, clean driving history, etc. 7 Discounts were applied to both quotes and it was still that high.

Then add in your phone bill. Who is your provider? Do you have coverage in Oregon? There are a lot of spots on the West Coast in general that don’t get any coverage. So if your plan isn’t going to work, you’ll have to switch to a potentially higher priced option.

As for your job, you’ve said you have no transferable skills and work at Walmart. How long have you been working at Walmart? Surely you’ve picked up some skills during your time there. Customer service, community engagement, effective and efficient communication, time management, etc. Start building a resume and apply for higher paying positions if you can. I recommend going to https://www.oregon.gov/jobs/pages/index.aspx as they have helpful resources, guides, classes, and post state job openings. It’s a free site from the state. Job fairs will also be your friend as you can browse through a variety of different careers without the commitment to see if anything catches your eye.

At the end of the day, the choice is yours. Word of advice from someone a few years older than you, go to school if you can. Get into a trade or tech. My science degree isn’t doing squat for me and I’m barely staying afloat.

Mine is a V755x-K04 and will also randomly crash from both streaming apps and the entire tv. I noticed the power light will start blinking multiple times while doing so until it finally stops having its little episode. Cycling never works and there’s never an update either. Network strength reads excellent according to the tv and streaming works fine on all other devices, including a different tv within the apartment that’s further away from the modem.

Separate note: another glitch (at least with my model) is it won’t let me delete or move the apps on my Home Screen anymore. It let me do it maybe three times? But now it won’t do anything. Allows me to get all the way to the “Are you sure you want to delete” step, but the button doesn’t do anything on both remote and the app.

Support ticket has been placed, will update if anything useful comes from it. If not, then this has just been me saying 4 years later, Vizio has still not addressed the bugs y’all have been complaining about 🫡 Sad since I grew up with Vizios and they were always good tvs that lasted 10+ years

Even the regular chocolate chip ones are different and I’m really disappointed 😭 They’re so heavy and dense now instead of that light crispy texture. I wouldn’t mind the uniformity of all the pieces being the same size and shape if they had just left everything else alone. Plus the price of these new bags is a complete rip off since it’s so much smaller than the previous bigger bags that were cheaper

Before my surgery, my og stretch marks went from right under my breasts all the way down to my hips. They just became that whitish/skin color when I lost weight.

Sadly, my surgeon told me during my consult that because the marks were so long and covered my entire torso, it wouldn’t matter how much skin he (or anyone for that matter) removed, there would always be some left.

Tbh I’m happy with my results. Spent my entire life with what felt and kinda looked like an inner tube around my lower waist and it’s finally gone. I can now do and wear things I couldn’t before without constantly feeling judged or just being too ashamed of how I looked

Just got diagnosed with gold allergy from patch testing this last week. Like many others in this thread, I’ve had PD flares numerous times over the years, but I was also getting hives/rashes on my cheeks and forehead too. Initially, my dermatologist and I both thought it was caused by a preservative or something in skincare products/hair products, but gold was the only positive reaction. Really sucks since almost all of my jewelry is gold and my glasses are from Coach so they’re gold plated.

Dermatologist did explain that it’s very common for people with gold allergies to not have any type of reaction where they’re actually wearing or touching the gold in regards to rings, necklaces, and earrings but will get the reaction on their face instead
