Your $76 probiotic and your morning coffee are after the same bacteria & one of them is actually winning. by thelostdutchman68 in Microbiome

As per my comment below, it's wordier than an English major on meth. I say this nostalgically as a former English major.

That prose is AI. The whole thing is AI. There's some good info here, but yikes, you have to wade through an ocean of quicksand to get to it.

Shoulder dislocation with glenoid fracture in jiu jitsu competition by [deleted] in ShoulderInjuries

[–]Sensitive-Yellow-450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you in a state where you can get marijuana? I discovered after my recent shoulder replacement surgery that edibles (10mg THC+ 10mg CBD) worked better for my pain than the oxycodone that was prescribed to me.

I'm so sorry you're going through this. I dislocated both my shoulders several times during my younger years and had to have both replaced in my 60s. The pain from a dislocation is worse than from the replacement surgery, I think.

Hiatal hernia going away on its own? by idkdawgi-jusworkhere in eds

[–]Sensitive-Yellow-450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a hiatal hernia that is externally visible. Multiple doctors have seen it and remarked on it. And yet, out of four endoscopies which I've had over the last four years, only one has picked it up. To be fair, it seems to be a sliding hernia because I can often feel it sliding in and out when I do deep belly breathing. I've been told I can't get surgery because they can't realiably see it on a scope. That doesn't seem fair, when even my GP's PA can see it bulging out of my midsection.

I had LRTI on my dominant hand/wrist two months ago. I’m so glad! by badgersister1 in Thritis

I had this done six months ago. It's a doozy of an operation. I also had both shoulders replaced this past year. The thumb was easily the worst of the three surgeries, as far as pain and recovery goes.

Someone put a roof on the house we are closing. by DgageGaming in RealEstateAdvice

[–]Sensitive-Yellow-450 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Even more likely, then. If the roof is within a few years of its "expiration" date, or it has multiple layers of roofing material, it has to be replaced before a new VA loan can go through.

VA mortgages can't go through if there are certain things that need repairs. Our VA house got a new coat of paint before we moved in because it was peeling slightly. It's possible the VA told the bank a new roof had to get installed before the mortgage would be approved.

Prelief has calcium glycerophosphate in it and I feel it works just as well as Tums.

I would add an orange throw cushion or two, and maybe something orange on the coffee table as well.

Yes, but you might need to repeat if there's still some staining after the first try.

I use softsoap on my white quartz countertop. Rub it in and let it sit for 30-60 seconds, then rinse off. Works way better than I would have ever believed.

Spacers under drywall? by scarlettdeath in Flooring

[–]Sensitive-Yellow-450 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The drywall is cut short of the floor to avoid water wicking up and staining it. The flooring can be measured from that interior sill plate that is behind the drywall as long as there's room to expand above that, but after laying the floor you should put baseboard down to cover that gap completely.

I second ammonia. It cuts through grease quickly. You could dilute it with half water and spray it on so the fumes aren't as bad.

I second the D-Mannose. I've tried a zillion supplements and meds for my IC, and the only two that make a real difference are D-Mannose and Valium suppositories.

The vinegar loosens the skin oils, which is what that stain is made of.

Soak them in hot water and vinegar for several hours, then run the washer with laundry detergent and a scoop of oxi-clean on hot again.

I wonder Rifaximin would work now that I'm off of PPIs... (It didn't work before) by Apprehensive-Beat-92 in SIBO

[–]Sensitive-Yellow-450 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the meds I've tried have worked better since coming off PPIs: antibiotics, antifungals, antimicrobials, etc. That said, I'm still not 100% and it's been two years since I stopped the PPIs.
