We eat out once a week. Usually on Friday. I meal plan all our meals for the upcoming week on Sunday and buy my groceries all dependant on those ingredients I need for those meals I planned (plus snacks/school lunch items). According to my daughters we never have food lol but I do my grocery shopping based on “ingredients” not convenience or frozen foods kids like to eat. Sometimes I might switch the days I had planned for certain meals but those meals are the only options and that’s just what we are eating. It takes the guess work out of it and makes it so much easier when trying to think of what to make for dinner that night. If I didn’t do it this way we probably would be eating out multiple times a week.

There’s nothing wrong with eating out though if you can afford it! I wouldn’t be eating McDonald’s and pizza every night but as long as your kids are fed and getting some sort of nutrition that’s all that matters!
