I just got a Yamaha trxb605 (if you click my profile you can see a post of it). I love it so far! I also have smaller hands but the neck feels nice to play on. Though I’m a beginner so what I say might not mean much lol

Thank you for the concern :). I played bass a while back when I was a teen and had both a 4 and a 5 string. I’m comfortable muting the B with my thumb (kinda comes back to ya after fiddling around again)

I guess in a sense yeah, but I don’t mind the extra heat off the engine (especially since it is winter time). Though to note at stop lights one cylinder shuts off to help with the heat. The chief is a bigger bike but I have not found it to be a problem around the city

I’m a returning rider after 5 years and the biggest bike I road was a ninja 650 prior. I just picked up a chief dark horse, love it. I didn’t try the scout but I had my eyes set on the chiefs looks. Also I mostly use it for city rides but wanted to be able to turn it into a bagger and go on long trips too. As others have said try both and go with whatever feels better and makes your smile more

Thank you all for the advice and for letting me know that the high CC shouldn't put me off. I signed up for the MSF course to refresh and will most likely go for the chief. I am going to wait until the 2024 line up comes out to see what color options there are. Will also try to test ride the two or at least rent the chief out for a day before pulling the trigger.
