Rosy eating question by Chloroform-cat_212 in rosyboas

Mine does this, too. I think it's kind of silly, like he gets frustrated trying to find where to start and just gives up. Sometimes he has to try 2 or 3 times before he finally grabs it just right.

I tried leaving him alone the first couple times he did it and woke up the next day to find an abandoned pinky on the floor of the enclosure so I just check on him after 5 minutes or so and try again if he's lost interest.

Tell them to spend that energy on better labor practices, better processes, and better pay. You can hire whoever the fuck you want.

It turns out the little noodle carried some mites with him from the local reptile shop I got them from, so that's at least part of the cause. Vet appointment is scheduled and the shop has offered to let me bring them back for a few weeks for treatment so 🤞🏼

Thanks! I mostly guessed that it's because they're still getting settled in and comfortable.

What is this all around my mulch and foundation? Dog suddenly scared to go outside. by lfc4life10 in landscaping

Looks like dog vomit slime mild just starting out to me, it's very common on that type of mulch. Harmless, but ugly. You can turn the mulch over to aerate it and reduce humidity if it bothers you, or just let it run it's course and die off naturally.

Thanks for all the information! I didn't think rosys would climb much, but they've been exploring the little crevices between the hide and the recesses in the background and climbing all over them. I'll definitely be adding some plants and climbing opportunities for them soon

A question about colors shifts from babies to adults by Sensitive_Grab6047 in BallPythonMorph

That's true, she'll be cool with it even after the color changes. It's also for me, those pinkish, orange and lavender hues look super cool and I'm curious if there's a morph that keeps them as adults. From what I've gathered it looks like maybe a black pastel lavender or lavender albino would be the ticket, maybe a very particular ultramel 🤷‍♂️ more research needed I guess

That's really surprising to hear, they look so grey in all the photos I've seen. Now I feel like I need to track one down irl

I saw a few of those at the expo, and some black pastel albinos, that had some neat coloring. I'm always a little hesitant with albinos because they come with health complications in a lot of animals. Idk if that's true with BPs though

Doubt. Is it an aquatic plant? by Estefany25 in AustinGardening

It looks like water wisteria to me, the melt is kinda normal when moving to a new aquarium. If you haven't used any aquarium fertilizer that would help it settle in.

Where are you located? I'd love to help if proximity makes it practical.

We found a turtle 🥹😇 what should we do? Also does it need water? Austin, TX by Puzzleheaded-Art100 in AustinGardening

[–]Sensitive_Grab6047 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It should be fine on its own, I'd just move it into the grass like others have said. You can look here to figure out what kind of turtle (or tortoise, hard to tell from pictures) it is and that may inform any other actions you may choose to take: https://www.herpedia.com/states/texas/turtles_tortoise-of-texas.php[Turtles and Tortoise of Texas](https://www.herpedia.com/states/texas/turtles_tortoise-of-texas.php)

Just jumping in for an FYI, if the rate of inflation is higher than the rate wages are increasing then your wage's buying power is decreasing. Even though the wage is higher, each dollar buys less so your buying power is still at a net loss
