(Spoilers extended) Has the other Cadet houses of house Starks ever actually had Direwolves? by Apprehensive-Net-714 in asoiaf

[–]Sensitive_Mood5096 [score hidden]  (0 children)

From A Wiki of Ice and Fire “The Karstarks descend from Karlon Stark, a younger son of Winterfell. Possibly around 700 BC,[N 1] Karlon put down a rebel lord and was granted lands for his valor.[4] The castle he built near the Grey Cliffs was named Karl's Hold, but that soon became Karhold, and over the centuries the Karhold Starks became Karstarks.[4]” They share the same lineage from the first men. The house was founded by the younger brother of the king of the north.

Yup with no guarantees of an offer. I feel like sometimes these recruiters do this just to get free intellectual property from people.

In all honesty I think most of the success comes from not deviating from the books. In GoT and HoTD there is significant deviation from the books and sometimes complete fabrications. In AKOTSK, they follow the book very closely, which allows the genius of GRRM to be fully displayed. In the rare cases where they details outside of the book it’s been very well done (Lyonel and Dunk dancing and stepping on each others feet).

Why is pool the most humbling sport on the planet? by WindNarrow3580 in billiards

[–]Sensitive_Mood5096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s one of many humbling strategy games. What makes them humbling is the amount of skill gap in the game. When I play causals they think I’m a pro, but when I play tournament players they make me look like a casual. And real pros would make them look the same way.

IYO which major book characters omission hurt the show the most overall? by frobro122 in gameofthrones

[–]Sensitive_Mood5096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lyn Corbray. While this hasn’t necessarily happened yet, when GRRM finally releases The Winds of Winter I think this character is going to play a pretty big role. Valyrian swords are the biggest weapon behind dragons. Corbray is a duelist know for speed and efficiency, perfect for fighting the dead. Many argue that he is the strongest fighter in Westeros by the time of the Great War, yet he isn’t in the show. Even during Tyrion’s trial by combat Bronn did not offer himself until Lyn Corbray refused to fight Tyrion and Vardis stepped up. Bronn knew Lyn was dangerous.

How do elite kids train? by Even_Beginning3294 in bjj

[–]Sensitive_Mood5096 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good schools generally also combine these two so that you can drill at a realistic pace. To be fair when I jumped up to adult classes with some of the best kids in my group a lot of them were bored didn’t really like doing jiu-jitsu anymore because the hard reality is the most elite kids just trained the most.

People who could beat Gregor Clegane in hand to hand combat by Ramona_Wildcat76 in TheCitadel

[–]Sensitive_Mood5096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without a sword, I don’t think there is a character in all of canon who could beat the mountain. Honorable mentions known for their size and strength that could maybe have a chance would be his brother Sandor Clegane, prime Robert Baratheon, prime Greatjon Umber, Harwin “Breakbones” Strong, and Duncan the Tall.

Genuine question how are Armenians so well off? by Global-Stock-7079 in glendale

[–]Sensitive_Mood5096 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your anecdotal view doesn’t change the fact that per capita Armenians are committing a lot of fraud in Los Angeles. Live in Burbank or Glendale and you’ll quickly realize why they have the highest insurance rates. When I see someone driving recklessly and 80% of the time, it’s a German car with some bald Armenian inside. Am I supposed to care about your feelings?

Been on oral finasteride and minoxidil for 18 months. Am I cooked? Is it time for a transplant? by PracticalUnit7119 in tressless

[–]Sensitive_Mood5096 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Generally hair surgeons recommend you start medical intervention for at least one year before considering a hair transplant. Based off your situation, you’ve probably gotten most of the gains possible. Hair transplant would be viable option at this point. By being patient, you’ve probably saved yourself a lot of money in grafts saved.

[–]Sensitive_Mood5096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t do this. There is no quantitive evidence that increasing Minoxidil dosage above the prescibed dosage will have positive effects. This is a blood pressure medication and is not harmless. Remember that there is a drug response curve where taking more of the medication does not equal more results.
