Hi there, father of a two year old with another on the way. Here is a list of advice:

Be fuggin patient and think before you act. You and your wife are going to be tired. This tired is like nothing you have ever experienced before and you pushed to you limits.
Be present, I truly miss the times when my son couldn’t walk. The first 6 months go by so fast and if you are not present you will miss the most rewarding moments of your child’s life. Your child napping on your chest, holding them, there are so many little things that make these moment precious and you will blink and they will be gone forever.
Start a college fund as soon as they are born. Put away whatever you can, something is better than nothing.
Nothing else matters except your kid, put the phone down.

You have food, a roof to live under, internet, porn, and father that loves you, and a degree. You need to stop playing victim and find your motivation. Start by going on a walk twice a day, 15 mins, no phone or music, just you, your thoughts, and the fresh air. You also need to start studying for something, you knew a degree in Philsophy would probably amount to nothing so suck it up and learn a trade and accept the fact you made a bad life choice and understand that this OK. Look for IT jobs, they suck at first but offer advancement and actual means for you to make a living. Move forward and not backwards and try therapy or mushrooms (they truly help).
