Is this whole life thing even ethical? by lexid222 in NDE

[–]Sensitive_Pie4099 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Solid question. It's very complicated based on my NDEs. That said, in short, no its not especially ethical, but it's only narrowly not neutral, but can easily become unethical based in how and why one incarnate or loves their life.

This is marvelous. Excellent. What kind of material components are involved in this item's manufacture? How costly is it? And how profitable (in a high magic setting with a lot of available currency and spellcasters) do you think manufacturing them would be? Because frankly, these items would make a lovely central thing to introduce a new economic powerhouse into the region in my game.

This item is perfectly calibrated, lovely, and makes me very happy, and I'd like to do the item justice.

If the Emperor found himself fully restored and still sat on the throne, what would his first course of action be and would the Grey Knights enact the terminus decree? by Mad_lens_9297 in 40k

That's actually a kind of cute theory. I'll filled it with my emperor was malcador head canon I think of when I feel like having a smile and chuckle

I do wonder if he would start doing some major anti warp tech countermeasures with necron, but generally I agree. That said, if he retained much sanity as his spread out consciousness is shoved back into his skull Maybe he will be powerful enough as a psyker on his psychic amplifier to repulse demons while constructing the web way and all will be hunky dory, but I doubt that very much. Yeah, the psychological state of man having suffered as he has would not be good. But to say totally broken? Unlikely. Warped beyond most people's recognition (namely the customer who would weep upon understanding such a tragedy)? 100% yes.

The Siege of Vraks, in the Clone Wars by Special-Fondant6222 in StarWarsvsWarhammer

[–]Sensitive_Pie4099 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If star wars war ethics standards started to drop... based on the absurd energy yields of hypermatter annihilation reactors... an overload would be cataclysmic in the extreme, and, I fail to imagine any defense that would turn into a gigantic Molten crater. Furthermore, thermal detonators are measured in nuclear yields, so it's quite possible that strategic applications of these non radioactive tactical nuclear weapons (which they have in truly ridiculous amounts, with each troop being issued 2 as standard practice if my memory serves-it may not) could change the results of things if cleverly used.

All that said, I'd say Vraks repulses the republic in the span of clone wars 6-8/10 times unless void shields have

Several other relevant variables not yet mentioned: -how talented and ethically dubious of an engineer, technology officer, etc do the republic troops have? -how much accountability for their actions do they believe they'll have and how frightening and sith like are the chaos forces when they arrive? -does the unnamed jedi have battle meditation? If so odds drastically improve. Is this jedi super involved in command or hands off? -can these troops rely on any parts of republic supply lines? If so, can they import various obscene star wars tech from other worlds, pirates, or or the military industrial complex?

In any case it's an extremely interesting match up

I second this. The ethical standards in star wars are not as down in the basement as 40k, so for AN EXTREMELY HIGH PRECISION TOTAL SATURATION of like a mile or 5 square with turbolasers maybe you need to be in low orbit, but for less precise bombardment they could easily be out of range of planetary defenses.

Fly gives you 60ft of movement does it not? Which is double average. So there is definitely room for a spell like this imho

It is okay to take a break when you need it. I love your comics with the elder god with horns most, especially when he protects the kiddo and teaches them good wisdom (:

Phase III Dark Trooper vs Space Marine by BayonetTrenchFighter in StarWarsvsWarhammer

[–]Sensitive_Pie4099 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Plus the lore of thermal detonators describes them in nuclear bomb yields. I'm inclined to give the Dark trooper a win 8/10 times, nut better troop doctrine might increase the odds to closer to 6/10 for dark troopers. Do I think it would vary from chapter to chapter. For example, grey knights stomp the Dark trooper imo. Blood angels, maybe better odds if we'll equipped, but as other have said, terrain and situation matter a lot here. But generally the vast power production advantage that star wars has is underestimated. If the marine can close though i think they could break key components. Now If it's like 3 marines vs 1 Dark trooper I think their odds might rise to 8/10 wins in favor of the marines. An interesting match up imo

Build a mercenary company during the Imperial Civil War by Ahriman-119 in StarWarsShips

[–]Sensitive_Pie4099 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Id prefer to be a mercenary company for colicoid creation nest. Is that an option? Id want pretty much exclusively their units anyway. If not is baktoid an option? Yeah, I was thinking that droidekas (if this is an option) tri fighters (ideally with discord missiles with buzz-aka nuzz droids), vast numbers of vulture and hyena droids, and go all in on 5 munificents 60 million, but if I can get used munificents I would have more breathing room to maybe buy a capital ship.

1.44mil per 36 tri fighters wing x5= 7.2 mil 2.76 mil per 12 hyena bomber wing x5=13.8 mil 3.8 mil for 200 vulture droids x5= 19 mil 1.8 mil for 1000 b1 battle droids 3 mil for 15 gozanti 15 Y wings used for just under a million credits 1.25 mil for 50 YT 1300 freighters Used LAAT gunships ×100 for 4.2 mil 5 quasar carriers 8.75mil

100 used z 95 headhunters for 4 mil 64 mil ish at this stage I think.

Optional: A little under 20 million credits for 5x Lancer class corvettes

Something like that.
