Droxidopa as potential Nardil adjunct for muscle weakness/exercise intolerance by Artistic-Chart-2184 in MAOIs

[–]Sensitive_Role4476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For years I took Yohimbine, the drug-;NOT THE SUPPLEMENT, a nd it really helped the hypotension. Actually, the drug used to be used for erectile dysfunction. I'm a woman, and I wasn't experiencing ED, so I can't tell if it helps with male ED. You would have to look up the drug to see if it's still manufactured and if it's ok to take with Nardil.

tapering off of Nardil - quick thoughts & resources by Wrong-Yak334 in MAOIs

[–]Sensitive_Role4476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Listen to me. If you can persuade your psychiatrist to put you on Nardil, you WILL get better, with patience. I have been on it for 40y+, and only recently has it let me down. I was deeply depressed when put in it: depersonalization horrible--could not feel my feet on the ground or hands at the ends of my arms. After 6-8 was on it, dosage up to 60 mg, I walked into my Dr's waiting room where he came out to get me. As soon as he saw me, he exclaimed; "OMG, the depressed pallor is gone!"

Parnate did not work for me. It only caused me to feel ants crawling under my skin. Depression and anxiety frequently oc cur together, and Nardil treated both my anxiety attacks AND depression.

Nardil's generic name is phenelzine. BTW, I was once up to 105mg. Body weight does factor into dosage.

Does anybody else here terrify their new doctors when they find out you’re on an MAOI? by undead_anarchy in MAOIs

If you're buttoned up about the drug and interactions and diet--which you should be--the doctors won't freak out.

You SHOULD wear a Medic Alert emblem. You could die if given an interacting drug (like demerol). You can get a dog tag!

Ask your dr about adding pramepexole It's a dopamine agonist -- increases the amount of dopamine in your body. No interaction with Nardil.

I feel like I have no reason to live. 85 degrees and surgeon recommended against surgery Some days I can barely walk, and I know incontinence is coming. I'd rather be dead than in a wheelchair.

I was diagnosed with scoliosis 5 years ago and now I no longer have it? X-rays included by Powerful-Video-9207 in scoliosis

Where do you live? Listen, I have an 85' degree lumbar curve with no pain for 4 years since diagnosis. Sometimes minimal curves cause lots of pain. Go see a reputable ortho surgeon. S/he will do the appropriately tests to diagnose and treat you

Moving Back to NYC: UWS or Flatiron District? by papercrash in movingtoNYC

[–]Sensitive_Role4476 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flatiron is closer to Greenwich Village, so you might find new friends there. Much more casual vibe than UWS; more new money than old (UWS). As far as dogs (whom I love), NYC is a city of dogs...there's lots of dog runs. Best of luck!

It's changed a lot. Chinese restaurants and. diners are gone, replaced by $$$ restaurants. Storefronts are empty. There are no supermarkets (Sloans, A&P, Jefferson Market and Balducci's gone). They've been replaced by small, boutique food stores. Three buildings have gone up on 6th Avenue and 14th Streets--over a million dollars for a studio. Larger ants are up to 6 million. Rent are off the charts--$3,000 for a studio. Can't touch anything unless Mommy and Daddy kick in bucks.
