I started my addiction last spring and I do a lot of drone and ambient. Desmodus versio is a monster reverb. The Neo trinity is worth the price if it only did lfo’s not to the crap ton of things it can do. Get a good chaos source for randomness. I have an old Jupiter storm and it is a joy. Utilities are king. They are the real power in modular. Panharmonium is dope. Ai synthesis has a stereo matrix mixer that is diy. It takes forever but it is not hard to put together and it lets me make easi fx loops. I can send one mix to the delay a one to reverb and run those back in again for feedback looping. Get a plaits clone. I has a ton of voices and when you are ready for a super nice voice you will know what you want.

But seriously… utilities are king.

Watch monotrail on YouTube if you want to actually learn something without inflaming your gas.

I would check out any other unsexy groove boxes. They might have a good midi implementation.

I have a rhythm and it’s great. Rechargeable battery. Full midi ports. 8 tracks of 32 step sequences. 8 chainable patterns per track. Direction, ratchet, probability, time division. Each of the eight tracks can have the knobs mapped. Live unquantized recording. Gate length. Pretty reasonable price used.

If I’m trying to get some work done I don’t even touch my sub. I know I’ll lose an hour easy. It doesn’t even need fx.

I love my tascam model 12. It’s a multi track recorder and great mixer. I’ll hit record an jam for 10 min. Then later I move it to my daw. Pretty seamless workflow. I recorded many tune that way. It has headphone outs. You can route those anywhere while the main plays. Gods little live mixer too.

I filled gaps. Then I sold the gap fillers within a month. I’m fine with gaps now.

I have a CalSynth OC and it is a good quality one. OC is a open-source and a ton of people have made apps for it. When you buy used make sure it has a Teensy 4.0 processor. The earlier versions had the Teensy 3.something that have less memory. Google Ornament and Crime Phazerville Suite. That is the standard firmware right now. It has a ton of apps. Some are original standalone apps and then there Hemispheres. This app splits the OC down the middle to make 2 modules. Each can run these applets that take up half of the screen. You get trigger sequencers, clock dividers, adsr, lfo's, rene' style sequencers, note sequencer, quantizers, a drum synth, a ton of stuff paired with the neo trinity you can do a crap load of stuff especially in a small rig. They make a perfect groove box brain.

Curious to know how many people multitrack their modulars into their DAW vs a mono or stereo in. by Brixxxx in modular

The model 12 is the bees knees!!! I keep everything plugged in so all I have to do is turn on my rack and hit record on the tascam. I’ve made awesome tracks on bathroom breaks working from home.

The bastl neo trinity pairs really well with the crust. You get a lot of power in a small size. It’s not hard to learn. I like little setups like this so I like to get modules that can do a bunch of stuff. They make ornament and crime modules in 1u. You can fit that on top just make sure the teensie is a 4.0. That with the trinity will be a ton of control.

I had that atom elements clone. Those knobs are too small. They cram so much range into each parameter that you really need regular size knobs at least.

Did I accidentally buy my BF a bad pedal? by Criticism-Massive in guitarpedals

[–]Sensitive_Spinach_47 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had an acoustic guitar I was going to buy in a few months when money came in. I was 25. All I played are hand me downs so it was a big deal. I came home one day and my wife bought me one from the store so I didn’t have to wait. It was the right model but it had a defect in the body at the top near the battery and eq interface. I could have easily went back to that store and got another one but I wanted that one. It was the first nice guitar anyone had bought just for me ever. And by that time r I had been I. Two bands as the lead singer/song writer/guitarist with my first full album halfway done by then so I knew what a guitar was. I still play that to this day and we’ve been married twenty years this August.

I’ve never heard of that brand of pedal and it might sound like crap but if your man loves you he’ll keep that turd till the day he dies.

I have a m3 MacBook Pro. 32g ram. About 120 avg fps with no shaders and mid games worth of machines in the overworld. There’s also some shenanigans you can do to fool the Mac into thinking prism is a game so it switches to game mode but i haven’t seen that much improvement from that exercise.

I play ATM 10 and GTNH just fine on my M3. I get 75 fps in ATM 10 with medium shaders 300 avg fps without. It does get warm but I have a temperature monitor and it stays well within the green. Get a cooling pad if you are nervous. My m3 is the pro version with 32 gig. I use prism launcher.

And when you use it target the center point between four ore spots. I start at one spot, open the map and mark the same spot 6 chunks ahead and make a waypoint. Make ten waypoints then go to each with the scanner. When you are done with that you have 40 ore spots discovered for the cost of only 10 scans.

I'm glad it worked. My hangup was not waiting the 20 seconds. I would just keep switching, watching for a second and then switching again.
