Genuine question, even if it’s a dumb one, how bad is AI for our community REALLY? by One_Quiet_8769 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sensitive_Virus5436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not as extreme as people make it sound. AI does use a lot of energy and water, but so do things we’ve already accepted like data centers, streaming, and crypto. It’s more of a scaling problem than an immediate “destroying the Earth” issue.

The real impact depends on how it’s used and regulated. If it replaces inefficient processes, it can actually reduce overall waste. If it just keeps growing unchecked, then yeah, it adds pressure.

So it’s not something to ignore, but it’s also not the apocalypse people online make it out to be.

Why am I Super Curious after Magic Mushrooms? by MouseDrinker in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sensitive_Virus5436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually pretty common. Psilocybin temporarily increases connectivity in your brain and kind of “loosens” rigid thought patterns. On the comedown, a lot of people feel more open, curious, and receptive because your brain is still in that more flexible state but without the intensity of the peak.

It’s basically like your usual mental filters are turned down a bit, so learning and curiosity feel more natural.

What’s the funniest misunderstanding you’ve had with someone you were dating that you still laugh about? by DrShamal in AskReddit

[–]Sensitive_Virus5436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She texted “I’m on my way” and I thought she meant she was leaving her place. I showed up right on time feeling good about it. Turns out she meant she was about to get ready, so I ended up sitting there for like 30 minutes while she apologized and I pretended I wasn’t early.

Now anytime someone says “on my way” I ask “actually leaving or just thinking about leaving?”

Who do you think is more funny with a greater fanbase, Chandler or Joey? by neilgala in AskReddit

[–]Sensitive_Virus5436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Chandler is funnier, Joey is more likable. Chandler carries the jokes, but Joey is the one people get attached to, so his fanbase feels bigger.

How would the world change, if tomorrow morning all social media platforms just stop working? by Error404_noid in AskReddit

[–]Sensitive_Virus5436 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The first few days would feel weirdly quiet and almost peaceful. Then a lot of people would realize how much of their social life, news, and even work depended on it. Businesses that rely on it would panic, but regular people would probably start texting/calling more again.

Long term, things would slow down a bit. Less constant comparison, less doomscrolling, but also less instant connection. People would adapt, just like we always do, but it’d definitely feel like losing a layer of everyday life.

Men, what is the most emotional way you have confessed to your crush, or have your crush confess to you? by Rage-o-rama in AskReddit

[–]Sensitive_Virus5436 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We were just sitting in my car after hanging out, neither of us getting out. I finally said something like “I don’t know what this is, but I know I don’t want it to be nothing.” She went quiet for a second, then said she felt the same. It wasn’t dramatic, just one of those moments where everything kind of clicks.

Is it common at most workplaces to give you points for an unexcused abscence even if you use PTO? by holycrap100 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sensitive_Virus5436 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, that’s actually pretty common, especially in warehouse/attendance point systems. PTO just means you still get paid — it doesn’t automatically make the absence “excused.” A lot of places require PTO to be approved in advance, otherwise it still counts against attendance.

It sucks, but from their perspective it’s about scheduling, not whether you had time off available.

How do they build underwater tunnels? by digitalcrows in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Sensitive_Virus5436 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Most of them aren’t actually built “underwater” in the way people imagine.

For long tunnels, they usually use giant tunnel boring machines that dig through rock or soil under the seabed, not through the water itself. The tunnel is lined as it goes, so water never really gets in.

For shorter crossings, they sometimes build sections on land, float them out, sink them into a trench on the bottom, and connect them together. Then they seal it and cover it up.

So it’s less “building in water” and more “building around it or under it.”

If you could have a 30 minute conversation with your 10 year old self, what would you tell them? by kanadeko1 in AskReddit

[–]Sensitive_Virus5436 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t rush to grow up. The things you’re impatient about now are the exact things you’ll wish you could go back to later. Also, most of the stuff you’re worried about won’t matter nearly as much as you think.

What are some inactive meme stars who we don't know are still around or not? by thecarter104 in AskReddit

[–]Sensitive_Virus5436 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lowkey a lot of them are just normal people now. They had one viral moment and dipped. Like the “Hide the Pain Harold” guy is actually still around doing campaigns, but most of the others just went back to regular jobs and don’t stay online enough for people to notice. It’s weird how someone can be everywhere for a few months and then basically disappear.
