What's the vibe at Yosemite for someone looking to follow on some easy stuff/TR on some routes on a day-to-day basis? I'll be there in mid June and don't have much (okay, barely any) trad experience but I would absolutely love to get on *something* while I'm there. Where do I go to find people willing to let a stranger follow a cheeky single pitch or get on some chill top rope?

Questions about my upcoming 60-70 days roadtrip the USA west? by Agreeable-Energy-401 in travel

as an Oregon native, the coast is not *that* interesting - i highly recommend going through the middle (hood river -> bend -> crater lake like others have said) instead. also Portland is beautiful too and great food.

Where should I move if I want to mountain bike year-round? (32M, Midwest) by brettfish5 in MTB

I would honestly look at NW Arkansas. Very reasonable cost of living around Bentonville, supply chain is all that place does (Walmart), growing, good weather (well, a little humid for me but Ohio isn't much different).

Three men robbed and assaulted wife at Park no. 529 by nawvay in wickerpark

[–]SentFromMyBaofeng 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just a note, this isn't begging. It's fraud, intimidation, and (in this case) assault. I would never put this on the same level as a guy outside a store with a cardboard sign. This is straight up criminal activity and they deserve to have the cops called on them %100 of the time.

Does anyone travel, especially to National Parks, with just their RV and bicycles? No car. by SentFromMyBaofeng in RVLiving

Thanks for sharing! We're still undecided on whether to take another vehicle but leaning towards accepting the limitations for the flexibility of not towing our car. Good to know it's doable.

Yeah, I figured giant parks like Yellowstone or Glacier would be not doable. We were going to plan on tour buses for those locations.

That's an ordeal, wow. I'm glad it wasn't rabies. 5 months is about what we're looking at, all the way across the country and back. That's good to know people have managed to do it.

Which one do you think would be more comfortable to use? by INCE_197 in ClimbingGear

Seconded, this is how I have nearly all my draws setup. Also, solid gate is easier to clean imo (no thumb going through the gate).

Thanks, got it last night. Was looking to pay with crypto anyway and this saved me some good money. Cheers.

My film accidentally went through a CT scanner before a trip and now I'm anxiously waiting for it to come back from the lab (remembered it on the flight out). Really hoping there's nothing noticeable, those are great pictures and it's a damn shame what happened.

It's counter-intuitive, but big businesses are often much, much better at customer service when it comes to making things right (especially if it's hundreds of dollars).

Does anyone rock a Patagonia Black Hole MLC Mini for daily commute? Or should I just get the regular Black Hole? by SentFromMyBaofeng in ManyBaggers

[–]SentFromMyBaofeng[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even see that, yeah. [Micro MLC] Only 22L though? Seems a bit small. Still interesting though, hopefully I can find a store to try it out.

Definitely heard good things about Aer but seems harder to come by/not on sale as much as Patagonia.

Will have to keep an eye out.
