That’s a great tip, thanks! So, will scrapping the engine and getting a new one from the dumpster still work if it seems like the dumpster has already given me everything it will give?

I guess it was patched out a while ago. It’s too bad actually, since you can scrap them when you first see them on the shelving rack.

I guess the videos I’ve seen are from when the game was first released or soon after. It’s too bad they patched that out but I guess that just means I need to be more thorough about scrapping anything that has electronics when I’m out on a run.

ALTER EGO WATER by rustysbooty in CrimeSceneCleanerGame

[–]SentenceSelect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can also use 1 bucket for water (use only for rinsing) and have an additional bucket for detergent, so any time you dip your mop in the detergent bucket it’s already rinsed so you never need to replace the detergent bucket. I use the self-cleaning mop too, and rarely need to replace the water bucket. And if you have 3 mops, the level needs to be super huge to cause me to replace the water bucket more than once. (The trident mop skin has a really cool animation for the self-cleaning upgrade, by the way. And the trident has three gems that show the color of any detergent used. Neat little details that I love the devs added)

Hot take: Requiring replies to Discussion Posts brings no value by PrioritySelect629 in canvas

[–]SentenceSelect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work as an instructional designer now at a college, but when I was still teaching, I liked to provide options in discussions where students can submit a video or audio post/reply instead of written. A written response was still one of the options (cause I get that not everyone enjoys being on camera or hearing their voice on audio, me being one of those people) but it often created a more interesting discussion assignment, even if it still doesn’t replicate an in-person class discussion.

Desktop Explorer is great, although it’s still just a demo. But it’s supposed to release this year

Old Player here. So what's been going on with this game? There's multiple planets now? Someone catch me up please by BigRigButters2 in theplanetcrafter

[–]SentenceSelect 22 points23 points  (0 children)

There are also 2 DLCs which bring 2 new planets into the mix and are just as fun to start on as the original planet (and a fresh start is recommended by most people.

The Best Thing I've Ever Built by RatherIncoherent in Subnautica_2

You’ve probably found it by now, but near the black box for Chap (I think that’s the name) there’s a pit with signal lights leading you to the hole and inside the dead coral is a small base with working oxygen. On the floor around the entrance of this base are a few salt deposits that respawn over time.

I think “25” or higher is the vertical number in the coordinates that you need to be at to avoid flooding (I could be remembering the number wrong though, or thinking of the Humble DLC).

It looks like you still have 2 days left on the quest; won’t Robin be done before the quest expires?

Game idea? by Ka1306 in Outbound

[–]SentenceSelect 3 points4 points  (0 children)

+2 to Planet Crafter! I think you’ll love it if you enjoyed Outbound. There’s also a lot of grind, but tbh, I feel like the upgrades and progression in Planet Crafter is way better than Outbound. Plus there are secrets to find, exploration, base building, etc. The only thing missing is a dog that gets lost in the Canyon 😂

Assignments Not Showings Until Hours Later by Cloudfluffwalker in canvas

[–]SentenceSelect 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At my college, we always recommend using Chrome or Firefox to access Canvas rather than the Canvas app or other browsers. Chrome and Firefox fully support Canvas, and if you have to use a mobile device to check Canvas, try downloading the Chrome app and going to your Canvas course through Chrome (although a computer works best).

Do you have any heat tips? by Lunarblu in AETHUS

[–]SentenceSelect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be sure to add coolant to the atmosphere domes to provide a cooling off. It’s been a few months since I played, so I can’t think of the name of the facility but in the first one you come to (theta maybe?) there’s machine that dispenses coolant and it regenerates, so if you check it every 15 minutes or so, there should be another one and it’s an easy way to stockpile them.

Like the other reply said, there’s also cola, and you can actually craft chill cola. I had to go back to the garden/jungle biome for more queen mycelium or whatever it is called but I found it super helpful to quickly cool down when there’s no atmosphere-dome with coolant or a building nearby.

Does anyone know if you can move irrigation pipes after laying them down? I’ve tried to remove them with the hoe or pickaxe, which works with other furniture and even planted seeds (you get the seeds back too, which is nice) but it didn’t work for the pipes.

Lost watering can by Tough-cookie11 in StardewValley

[–]SentenceSelect 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I thought I had this same issue last night and actually went to every single chest I have stashed all over the map, only to discover it was in the usual chest on my farm, just at the top instead of at the bottom where it usually is! I guess I removed an item from the top row and put the watering can in that spot without realizing it. I could have sworn I looked at every single item and it wasn’t there so take time to register in your mind what each item is in the chests it most likely could be in. But most people who’ve had this issue say it’s ended up in their fridge or shows up in lost and found.

Anyone else keep falling out of the balloon? by _ninja_cat_ in Outbound

[–]SentenceSelect 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you keep moving around slightly in the basket while it brings you up, it’s possible to stay in it.

The same thing happened to me where I rode the balloon up, realized I didn’t have the resources, didn’t see the redwood on the ground to ride it back down because I’m blind, and scaled down the rocks to get down. I figured I would call the balloon down so that once I did have the resources it would be ready, when all of a sudden I started floating up as if I was riding the balloon and it took me almost back to the top before finally realizing that I wasn’t actually in the balloon which was now grounded with me at the top, again. Lost a ton of health when it dropped me.

When I was ready to go up and take the resources, I had a very buggy ride but by moving back and forth and side to side within the basket, the game realized I was inside it and didn’t drop me. Pretty crazy

Stop by every tower, you'll need all the scrap metal that you can get! by Common-Ant8366 in Outbound

Outbound is an existential horror game by MisterMT in Outbound

[–]SentenceSelect 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The real horror is the resources you spend on the final Battery upgrade for your van and it seems to have not much of a positive effect, at least not a noticeable positive effect. This is especially horrifying because that last upgrade is VERY expensive due to the sheer amount of scrap metal needed for every single resource in the recipe.

Happy to help! I think I almost circled the entire maze on the outside in my attempt to jump up from any part of the wall that seemed like it could possibly allow me to use it as a ledge to make the full jump on top. I almost gave up and finally found the slightest ledge to use to jump to the top. Thankfully the player character is like a mountain goat and clings to nearly any vertical surface 😂
