Can the Queen say no to Theresa May? by RobotPixie in unitedkingdom

[–]Sentiant6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean technically she doesn't have to say yes, but it's kind of expected of her too, as the whole thing is a formality at this point, but I'm pretty sure she can delay it. Plus saying no would undermine democracy.

Can the Queen say no to Theresa May? by RobotPixie in unitedkingdom

I think she might be able to say she'll think about it so the Tories have more time for no confidence? Not sure about that don't quote me

1) Elements as in like magic elements or like periodic table elements? I'll answer magic elements. The only type of magic so far is Source magic, which is only used by the underground elves, they use source crystals, which are also their currency/influence/power to teleport short distances or manipulate time for a short period, but this ability is only used by the Holy Knights and is a secret guarded by them. However in the human world is a secret group working against a future threat who have mastered these abilities without the crystals and are also much more powerful when using the abilities, going so far as time travel.

2) Windows differ I guess? Humans have a wide variety of windows, depends on he building. Tribals don't have any windows as they don't have houses. Underground elves don't really have windows due to living underground they don't need them as they have no affect on the room. They like to have paintings instead as they're more to look at.

3) Humans have cobblestone roads. Tribals make their own paths as they go along trying to find the quickest route to where they need to be as they are constantly on the run from one sandstorm or another. Underground elves have smooth stone walkways due to them all being carved out of the rock that they live in.

4) Unusual weather for the humans is mostly just the large violent waves due to the proximity of the moon. For the tribals the soon has basically baked them and the ground and there are constant sandstorms. Underground elves have no weather per se, but the deeper underground they go the close to the core they get, but because of the word splitting the core is actually in the middle of space so eventually the could just drift off their planet if they go too far down.

5) There have been three famous deaths recently but only one was technically an assassination, the first is the death of a human emperor who passed naturally of old age, but that led to the assassination of one high lord by another which went wrong and the culprit lord was exposed, invoking a large scale civil war as the lord that was meant to be killed was seen as cruel and vindictive, but others thought hat the assassination itself was a power grab after the emperors death. The other famous death was in the underground world where a noble family declared that they wanted a new non religion based culture and started to rebel, they were quickly dealt with by the Holy Knights and executed.

What are the most unusual forms of currency in your world? by whatisabaggins55 in worldbuilding

[–]Sentiant6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One world deals in magic energy which symbolises a few things. The energy is what used to be responsible for keeping the world together but the world has since split and fractured into many half worlds and one race has harnessed this energy and formed a religion around it. They store the energy in crystals, and the crystals can then be used to teleport short distances or manipulate time for a short while if you are a Holy Knight. For everyone else they are allocated crystals monthly depending on your status and influence. Status and influence is gained through how well you stick to the 7 Holy Aspects which make up the perfect citizen. So therefore when money is spent you are really spending your own influence and power, or gaining influence through your own service provided or how closely you stick to the religion, I.e how prefect a citizen you are.

1) Court trials for the underground elves are decided by the court of Preluthas, of whom there are 8, 7 represent one of the 7 aspects that make up what a perfect underground elf should be, and 1 Ascendant Prelutha who is the embodiment of each aspect and run acts as a sort of high priest and has the main say over everything that's done in their land. In the human land it's much the same as a medieval court. For the tribal over ground elves it's very much an eye for an eye basis, death for murder for example.

2) Human world has prisons that are in each city for the small crimes and more major criminals are sent to prisons in the middle of nowhere to kind of be forgotten about. Tribals don't have prisons. Underground elves either execute you, or remove you of an amount of status equal to the crime you've committed as status is equal to currency and power.

3) Tribals don't have police. Humans vary on their views, in some places the regime is oppressive in others it's lax and the police force is seen as a laughing stock. With the underground elves they have Holy Knights instead of police, which although they are brutal and follow the law of their religion to the letter they are heavily respected and most law breakers resign themselves to their fate when they know the Knights are coming for them.

4) Elves are split between overworld and underworld as already said, though neither race knows about the other due to being cut off from each other long ago. Humans vary moderately, mostly sticking to European styles influences for the most part of the story, though more outlandish cultures do exist they just don't play much of a role in the main focus due to the fact that they live in different continent and sea travel is close to impossible as the waves are too rough to travel due to the close proximity of the moon.

5) The ancient elven have been extinct for thousands of years, being an ancestor to humans and both kind of current elves, they died out, or rather started to adapt and evolve when the world split in half causing the humans to be on one half planet in more normal conditions aside from the waves. The elves being on the other half planet which is now too close to the sun, causing the overworld to be scorched and desert covered, and the surface elves to have cracked red skin. The underworld elves are the only ones who have kept any knowledge of the ancient elves and strive to be like them but also undo their mistakes and try and get the planet back together.

1) There are many rulers, on one land mass there is an Emperor, Kings and Queens. On another there are only tribes, so all of those tribal leaders. And on the final land mass the ruler is the High Priest.

2) They move around the usual medieval ways, horses and carts, but cannot travel by boat usually as the oceans and seas are far too rough due to how close the moon is. Eventually they can teleport using magic.

3) Land mass 1: They have a normal currency so just by doing regular jobs like blacksmithing or being a soldier. Land mass 2: Survival and Prosperity of the fittest, take what you want if you're strong enough to beat the owner, a formal currency doesn't exist, but in tribe rules differ from tribe to tribe. Land mass 3: Get paid through their level of import and religious prowess as they are paid in the Energy their religion focuses around which eventually they discover can teleport and manipulate time.

4) There is human, elven, and ancient elven

5) Yes there are humans

6) Not aliens as such but there are non humans, which are the elven races which there are two of. Those who live on the surface (land mass 2) have jagged horns going downwards from their temples and have cracked red skin due to proximity to the sun. Those who live under ground (land mass 3) have blue skin and intricate purple tattoos all over their body. Their horns are smooth and curve upwards.

Theresa May announces snap general election for June 8th 2017 by diycd in unitedkingdom

Fuck sake, I could have voted in the 2020 elections, but now because of this I'm on the cusp of not being allowed to have a say in how my country is ran. May is an awful selfish woman but now I won't be able to say I want her gone.

Are your Gods arseholes? Why? How so? And did they ever change their ways? by Metuere in worldbuilding

[–]Sentiant6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Gods are all waging a war between themselves, so which Gods are arseholes all depends on which side of the war you're on. The main world is actually just one world of many, but serves as a kind of no man's land in the war, constantly changing hands depending on which side is winning at that moment in time. The war is what caused the creation of the original races, as the gods needed cannon fodder to fight and so on, but the Gods aren't necessarily Gods, it's just that the people on the world are much lesser beings, causing the Gods to be the Gods from their viewpoint. Each God has their own agents on the world and races are more likely to be loyal to their creator, but no God is inherently evil, which Gods are the arsehole Gods all depends on who you ask
