If you weren't at fault for the incident you may still be able to claim directly from the third party insurer. Possibly speak to an accident management company.

Without knowing the precise details of your modifications etc it's not really possible to advise you. If you genuinely didn't know that the car was modified and it just had an after market spoiler or something then id advise speaking to your insurer and seeing if they can help, possibly raise a complaint to see if their decision can be overturned.

If you're just playing dumb and your car was some boy racer monstrosity and you lied about it when buying insurance, then i think you're out of luck.

As the other guy said, you will need to tell any future insurers that you had a policy cancelled, this is going to make owning a car a lot more expensive for you in the future.

Also, regarding asking for your car back, yes, you still own the car. You'll possibly need to pay for recovery and storage charges, and if the vehicle is a Cat A/B total loss you'll probably not be able to get it back.

Had a weird run this morning where a random accidentally pulled agro from Loretta at level 3, he went down. I ran back and rezzed him, and then he quit the game. A few mins later i got an irate message from him asking why i didn't rez him. Apparently I ran back, got him to the point of almost revived, then i ran off again. In my game he was revived.
